Book 7: The Great Catacysm Myth in Andermyre | World Anvil

Book 7: The Great Catacysm

Chapter 1: The Fist of Davion

Davion relished in the moment, and then pulled back his arm.
It sailed from Davionica to Salland and smashed into the round continent .
Salland was shattered and the elements scattered and the people splattered.
And then Davion spat a curse at each of the Children of Salat.

Tousands of the Children of Davion loaded onto the eight ships of Mojoust and set sail.
Honing their sailing skills as the traveled they were unprepared for running into storms and Kraken
They screamed into the sky for equal power to back them.   Davion was so enthralled with his own victory that he answered the prayers and created.
They would need souls. Queen Zunory woke.
They would need rage. Bayne woke.
They would need poison. Cyric woke.
They would need slaughter. Grumysh woke.

Chapter 2: The Elements of Chaos

While Davion and his children crossed the Gray Ocean Phazon prepared.
The humanoids vs. humanoids would be a slaughter, but a fair fight.
The giant titans and the ethereal Geni would be another matter.
As a creature of justice and neutrality Phazon wished to fight fire with fire.
Phazon awoke Spheros to summon the essence of elements to assist them.
Portals of many sizes opened to the plane of elemental chaos.
Small elemental popped into Myrid to help prepare.
They built forts, powered the ships in the sea, and lit the night.
There was a new age of technology built on these primordial servants.
But there is a thin line between servant and slave.
The elemental rebellion was started by the Dwarves who were now bonded with the earth.
They used magics to open the portals even further and elementals poured out.
When they saw what was happening to their brethren they stopped fighting amongst themselves.
Forests burned and valleys flooded, and mountains fell. Only the air rose above it all.
The people of Salland were on the verge of extinction and the Children of Davion hadn't even landed yet.
Phazon chastised Spheros for the chaos he brought.
Phazon created an elite group of Arch-Druids focused on controlling the essence of elements.
The portals were closed and the elementals left behind were re-enslaved.
And after just 2 generations he Druids brought the elements under control.
They were as prepared for the Children of Davion as they were going to get.

Chapter 3: The Hammer Returns

As the expedition had done many years before, the ships of Davion made landfall.
Goblins, Orcs, Titans, Geni and Reptoids surged into Salland with a blitzkrieg.
Salland was slaughtered and raped and the Geni used the spite of elements to their favor.
The Children of Salat tapped into chaos magic and sacrificed much of Myrid to make the difference.
With this power behind them The Childrens fought to a standstill.
It became a war of gorilla tactics and attrition and assassination.
The Children of Davion saw the arcane powers of the Children of Salat and they learned.
The Children of Davion settled into their own homelands. They were here to stay.
The Children of Salat regrouped, recovered, and recommitted to destroy the evil invaders.
They were united and organized and even without divine powers had magic and elements at their backs.
The hatred sheathed and they would not stop until every single Child of Davion was destroyed.
They started to succeed.

Chapter 4: The Epoch of the Woryms

Davion saw his people grow weary of the battle. They regressed into small groups.
He was furious and sent plagues and curses. To whip them back into a frenzy he created Dragons.
These would be the the kings and queens for a new campaign of war and genocide.
Black (Goblins), Blue (Orcs), White (Titans), Red (Geni), and Green (Reptoids) to command each race.
The battle of the Children renewed and ensued. The great lizard leaders became like demi-gods.

Portent and Darnus had to act. They combined their lawfulness and goodness to respond.
They matched Davion's creation in power, but unfortunately with that came the egos to match.
Gold (Dwarves), Silver (Elves), Copper (Humans), and Bronze (Chimermen) came to command each race.
And with that the battle pitched with the Dragons sacrificing thousands of Children for their own glory.

Myrid herself was taking a great toll as the war raged on. She would bring the scales of balance.
She would create powerful dragons of neutrality and without the great ego of their predecessors.
Emerald, Cloud, Predator, Crystal. and Blood dragons joined the fight.

The gem dragons tried to broker a new pact of peace.
There was a thunder of dragons as the 14 came together.
Surprisingly, the chaotic dragons of Portent were the ones who planned an ambush.
The meeting fell into bedlam and darkness and there was a slaughter of Dragons.
Cystobol was cursed and killed and transformed. Shadow dragons came to be.
The dragons retreated to lick their wounds and made a pact to keep to their territories.

Chapter 5: The War of the Miracle Marks

The civilized of Myrid became weary and disillusioned at the leadership of these creatures.
The dragons wielded arcane power at a scale unreachable by the humanoids.
Without the divine power of the Gods they turned to other unworldly powers.
Dark pacts were made in exchange for skin marks of power and weapons of dragon slaying.
Sects of paladins arose hosting different codes but with the same mission.
Kill the dragons.
Most of the children of Davion decided to lay low and retreated to isolated places to watch the war.
Only the Reptoids stayed loyal and and were rewarded with wings and breath weapons of their own.
And the dragons bred. Offspring that were more numerous, but less than their parents in all ways.
The deterioration of the blood line would result in deep dragons petty, feral and overconfident creatures.
The war was a success, but at a price.
The devils of the pact were Children of Zunory, the Dark Queen.
Over the years the corruption had drawn many of the holy warriors into ego and self-importance.
Anti-paladins took control and the churches worshiped them and they passed that veneration on to the Devils.

Chapter 6: The The Chains of Men

The unholy factions began to come together under the queen of death.
Any with the miracle marks of death were aristocracy, and everyone else was a servant.
Their reach and oppression was complete across Salland.
Davion and the Dark Queen began the final genocide.
Portent wept, Phazon wept, Darnus wept, The Mother wept.
Boy were they going to be in trouble when Salat got back.
They had all been worn down by the wave after wave of destruction
All but one. Kanada spoke logos:
All it takes is one lucky person who will not give up.
Will not surrender.
I will go down to Myrid myself and find this person.

Kanada took mortal form and wandered the lands of Salland.
He gathered followers and worshipers and tried to find the one in a million.
Incantos and Florauna followed taking mortal forms, and with a bit of luck they found the chosen.
A fantastic foursome of heroes emerged Urnst, Bizor, Oberingirth & Lon Agar rose up and overthrew the slavers.

Chapter 7: Of Kings and Kingdoms

Four vast kingdoms that covered Salland were founded.
The Four had worked together, but had very different ideas of what civilization should look like.
The Warrior, Wizard, Ranger and Rouge split up never to see each other again.
The Empire of Emperor Urnst, Urnst.
The Magocracy of Arch-wizard Bizor, Langrond.
The Confederation of Oberingirth, Agelos.
The Anarchy of Long Agar, Yuno.
