Petal of the First Crown

First Crown is not only the honour of being second only to the core. It's the duty of being the first line of defense.

Summary

The central place of each Gathering is the Core, which comprises of the greatest Savenian minds specializing in one of the thirteen arts of Tanitris, the so-called Artbearers. Those, who surround the Core form the Crown and are called the Petals. When entering Ædeos — the world of concepts and forms, they are the defense of the Bloom. If their minds are swayed and shaken by the Æter, the Core is more likely to fall and the collective mind will be forced out of Ædeos.

The first of the folk, who need not know come from these schools would form the First Crown, i.e., they would be the ones guarding the Artbearers themselves. It is a very responsible task and more often than not, one will rather take a further position than risk the shame of weakening the Bloom. The ritual cannot be repeated. So once the Æter breaks through the minds of the First Crown, the journey in the Ædeos ends.

Gaining the position

The position can be gained by hard work and disitinguishing oneself above all in the region. Because the Bloom is strongly related to representing the strong influence of the region, the Petal of the First Crown is given only to those who by their works have change the minds of people in their respective region.

It is possible, however, to gain the position of the First Petal and in the same time being related to multiple regions. Such is the usually encountered fate of the skalds, and in particular of the trickster skalds, whose works, very often take deep roots and spread far and wide. A famous example of someone includes Scathach, the Cymrian Flame, who kept her Cymrian origins, while in the same time strongly influencing Gáláwá and Tæn.

Additional information

First Petals are usually given the honorary citizenship of the Tæn region.
