Voidfury

Knowledge. Power. Our people are addicted to it... a dependence made manifest after the Sunwell was tainted by the light. Welcome to Telogrus. A pity some fail to see the truth. True power is ours now   -Sylnaar Voidsedge

About

The Seventh Sunfury Expedition, informally known as the “Voidfury” consists of recruits and survivors of Kael’thas’ expedition under the command of Voidwarder Voidsedge. Pursuing their endless quest for power as a means to ascend beyond themselves and bring destruction upon the savage Horde for the good of the Alliance.   The Void offers great power and a means to push their ideals yet at great cost to their minds. While their sanity is on the constant brink of madness they walk the path of iron control to make sure they master the eldritch whispers of the unending Void.   Even with the in-depth teachings provided to their race by the Locus-Walker and Alleria Windrunner only a mere fragment of the Void has been uncovered. On their path to true ascension, the Voidfury seeks to fully tear down the mask of secrecy and gaze upon the true face of entropy.

History

The bulk of the Voidfury originates as members of the Sunfury expedition to Outland following the scourging of Quel'thalas. Designated as the 7th, they fought fiercely against the forces of Magtheridon and followed their Prince to the Netherstorm, where the elves' first interactions with the void happened, loosely around the expedition's nethermancers. Some of the 7th truncated to align with the Sha'tari under the banner of the Scryers, others left the Sunfury ranks after the Prince's initial demise. These ex-Sunfury spent the following years in exile, imprisoned, or in service to the Horde & the Blood Elves.   Rallied by Sylnaar's return, the veterans re-gathered under Umbric and followed him throughout his research of the void, forgoing their prior loyalties (or lack thereof). Eventually, the Voidfury found themselves changed permanently, their thirst for Mana and power quenched, and their magister re-aligned with the Alliance.

Recent History

A gathering of the former 7th led to the formal foundation of the Voidfury in an abandoned Kirin Tor camp, within Deadwind Pass. The Ren'dorei present agreed to reunite in service of the Alliance and to pool their knowledge and power for its cause. The gathering was soon followed by the recruitment of the first Quel'dorei initiate, eventually helped through the complex ritual of ascension within Telogrus. The Voidfury has since returned to the Netherstorm to create a hold and outpost within and around the former manaforge Ultris, from where they engage with the rest of the world. Sylnaar re-established a training regimen for Ren'dorei soldiers modeled after the Blood Knight Order he was part of, naming his trainees "Rift Knights".   While intercepting a Blood Elven shipment bound to Suramar, the Voidfury also captured a soul gem and eventually restored a warlock into life who has beckoned them against and in allegiance with demons alike. Similarly invested in battles against blood trolls in the south and a San'layn cult in the north, the seventh return from Hellfire Peninsula, and cooperation between forces of the Alliance to tackle these issues one-by-one.

Rank and File

The Voidfury's ranks are largely composed of fresh recruits, separated between unascended elves and initiates. Initiates later progress to become a soldier of their chosen art, largely derived from the sects and divisions in the former Sunfury command.   The frontlines are held by the rift knights, wielding the void to shield and mend themselves while also brandishing cold steel against their foes. The enemy's lines are struck by the Ghostlbades from the back, each talented in the use of shadows and poisons alike. The 7th's own back lines are formed by their nethermancers, rift stalkers, and rift wardens, wielding a combination of conventional weapons and potent magical spells to assail their foes.

Neutral

Though these two orders had a rocky start, both have recently come together as closer allies thanks to diplomatic tension between the Dawn and Lordains

Neutral

The Seventh and Dirge have cooperated amicably in multiple deployments.

Neutral

An unlikely camaraderie was found in one another during the battle for Hellfire; the Ren'dorei grew to respect the ferocity of the dwarves and the wit of their gnomish allies

Neutral

During the foray into Hellfire Peninsula, the Voidfury developed both respect and camaraderie with the Sentries, working almost seamlessly alongside them.

Neutral

Cautious allies at first, maintained only by the obscuration of the Seventh’s Sunfury heritage. Sylnaar recently confessed the truth to the Oronari’s Praetor, and seeks to earn the trust of the Draenei.

Neutral

Relations between the Highbloods and the Voidfury were sealed for permanent antagonism when the Emissary's brother was crippled for life by a dark curse as retaliation for the betrayal of his words of truce.

Hostile

The Voidfury contest the coven's presence on Outland and they clash frequently.
