Shadowbane Coven

"And what of it? Power is truth, power shapes, and knowledge is power. Harvest it, shape and be shaped by it. Then when remorse strikes you will look back at what you have done, how far you’ve gone. There, there you will see the twisted path that you have set. All by you, claim the spoils, claim all of its glory and walk forth for there are schemes to craft and betrayals to set."
-Robert Zeldrosh
After the Burning Legion’s defeat, a power vacuum led to the creation of a branch within the Shadow Council — the Shadowbane Coven. Led by the Netherlord, a crooked meeting in the Shadow Labyrinth between him and the future Councilor Robert Zeldrosh set the stepping stones for the cult to initiate spreading their influence among the Horde and in the future, the Alliance.

Forged by Betrayal

The use of the Dread Covenant was no longer needed for something greater will be crafted from its ashes. The evil “association“ had potential individuals that the Councilor had been swaying and setting them into the right path, for they would be the perfect acolytes for the Coven. When the time was right betrayal was set under the visage of the hooded statues of the Altar of Storms of the Blasted Lands, and the defensive wards were warped to secure the summoning of the demonic forces that will join the battle. Shortly after with cruel spells, horrid curses, and demonic aid the shattering of the Dread Covenant and the first victory of the Shadowbane Coven were achieved.   After the destruction of the Dread Covenant, it was a time of scheming, recruitment, and forging new “alliances” in a base of operations, the Cleft of Shadow.   Under new names, lies, pacts, and promises of power, the Coven grew among the Horde ranks. Managing to join the many units that formed the Saurfang Legion, giving them insight and the necessary advice while safeguarding some of the many hazardous artifacts that the Horde held.   Although untrusted, the Coven assisted the Horde on many of its campaigns, giving vital aid in Stonetalon. Subjugating demonic foes in Ashenvale, protecting the Horde interests while using its influence in the shadows while defending the Warsong Lumber Camp. Being the only Horde unit securing their objective in Andorhal their leadership was dubious and doubted, for the Councilor couldn’t be trusted in the Horde ranks. A change was needed to secure the many plots of the Coven, with his identity partially revealed the Councilor handed his soulstone to Deq, his most loyal imp. He walked the path and struck the leader of the Myrmidons seeking his death and his resurrection, yet he was unaware of what plans S’vit had for him.   After the campaign victories and defeats followed, and a new Councilor took the opportunity that the Netherlord bestowed to him. This time Razhuj Ashenvile ensured a stern doctrine in the cult until the fatidic day

The Earth Elemental Incident

The most dreaded day in the many chapters and future chapters of the Shadowbane Coven was a day that disrupted many betrayals and schemes. Amidst battle against the Alliance while supporting the Horde in a campaign to end the threat of the Northwatch once and for all, an earth elemental was called upon, the ancient spirit saw past their attempt to hide their vile magics. Recognizing the true evil and attacking a dark shaman that followed the cultist, in dire need of help the Coven struck the spirit seeking to banish it but the corruption and the mere thought of attacking the elemental led the Horde never to trust the Shadowbane Coven.

The Shadowbane Coven.

With a new base of operations and no need to hide their actions, the Coven continues their pursuit of power, manipulation, corruption, and spread of influence. Being a threat against the Horde, Alliance, and any power that seeks to rival or act against their actions, although without a resounding presence in Orgrimmar some say that there are rumors about shady individuals that work for the Coven in the Cleft of Shadow or even in the Saurfang Legion or the Concordant itself. For their demonic patrons will bring forth woe, dread, and fury to the many races of Azeroth and the enemies of the Shadowbane Coven.   Hail to the Burning Legion, the Dark Lord, and the Writer of Woes!   Galtak Ered’nash!
