Othis

Othis is permanently snow covered, with seas that are usually iced over. The sun's light is so weak at this orbit that midday resembles twilight.   The Ancients did live here up until the collapse of the ancient society and then appeared to die out. Following that, Frost Giants and Golliath where the dominant species for a few thousand years. The humans here now are though to have arrived sometime in the Common Era and likely from Hadamon - probably exiled criminals.   Today, the majority of inhabitants are humans, known as Othans and are clearly from the same physical stock as the Hadi of Hadamon. Frost Giants and Goliaths are also here in numbers.     During the Colonial period, Etolarians came to Othis with grand designs on colonizing it. However, the harsh environment made it extremely difficult for the Etolarian colonists. Instead Othis became a good trading partner with Etolar. With modern comforts, technological advances and aid from the Etolarians, the Othan people expanded from primarily hunting, gathering and farming to mercantile, trade and even higher learning.   There are five major continents on Othis:     The Ancients name for this planet is Othiscaptha and means "The edge of life" probably from being at the extreme edge of the Primean Solar System.     The Ancient diety Osiris (life/afterlife) featured prominently in this culture. This is probably due to the sun, the incarnation of Ra, being only a pebble sized spec in the shadowy sky and and featured far less prominently in day-to-day life.
