The Well Speaks

So we're not going to Davokar. Which is pretty good to be fair. I will need to find some work doing something as the 20 odd Thaler in my pocket isn't going to last forever.
 
For some reason folk around here have labelled me the 'Abomination slayer'. I decided to leave. I rode hard to the East for a whole day, then Maximo gave me one of those looks of his and I turned around to go back to my new friends. I can put up with a little notoriety for them, just need to make sure it doesn't become a lot of notoriety.
 
I tried offering some of the outgoing expeditions some sword lessons, though most of the people coming out of the or going into the Davokar are pretty experienced. If I'm going to try and turn this into a living I will have to better target my offer.
 
I decided to have a quiet day in the Fern to plan my next move. A tiny goblin offered me a letter. The letter lead me to a woman who looked scared and in need of help. This is how it starts.
 
I gathered the others and we went to discuss the mysterious woman's offer.
 
We met the woman, Annadaya, and she said she wanted us to fight the Darkness. She asked us to name our price, I flipantly said 500 Thaler and she agreed. Abe and Mayve seem to be anxious about a job that will pay that much.
 
Now the city is under attack by Barbarians.
 
Things are not going well. Bits of the city are in ruins and beastly barbarians are in the streets killing the people.
 
Maximo carries me into battle again and again in defence of the citizens of Ambria. This feels like the old days, a city under siege, just trying to keep people alive.
 
A large group of the attackers round the corner. I charge, imaging that I am surrounded by my fellow Knights, for one last desperate cause.
