Session 48: Recipe for Cold Iron found here.

It's CorellonEmber 9th, roughly 3pm
 
Tempest has just touched the Hammer symbol, and it glows red. The rest of the symbols on the wall disappear, and we now hear the clay golems walking towards us.
 
Stefan will be joining us soon- He has been in a pyramid underneath Galvania. His spirit has been here, and it's been guarded by an andro sphinx. This thing doesn't talk to him or give him any information about how or why he is there. One day, the andro sphinx talks to a raven. It walks by him, hops into Stephan's room. The Raven says his patron, the Raven Queen has a proposition for him. Stefan is like, sure...anything to get me out of this void.
 
this Raven tells Stefan that Leland got himself into trouble and he serves the Raven Queen. Leland died, and was supposed to go back to the raven queen, so she sent the raven to find him. The raven can't find him. The raven got a weird feeling one day that lead him to Stefan. He doesn't know why, but he thinks that Stefan is the key to finding Leland.
 
The andro sphinx is allowing the raven to borrow Stefan. The raven take Stefan's spirit to his body. Stefan's body is with the Denightens. He has a whole ass adventure finding his way to us. He tracks us down to the cave we are in.
 
Stefan hears us arguing in the other room, and he finds us. As the clay golems slowly make their way to us, we catch Stefan up on everything that has happened and are so happy to see him.
 
The golems approach and we fight.
 
Tempest tries to polymorph one into a cat, but turns out you can polymorph constructs. WE fight these things and we defeat them, but they do kill Tempest. Luckily, Lyra is able to cast Revivify on him.
 
We take a long rest after the battle. or try to anyway.
 
We discover that Tempests armor has cursed him to make him vulnerable to bludgeoning and slashing damage. Hazel is able to remove that curse from him.
 
While resting the golems come back to life and try to break down the door.
 
We decide to try to get the symbols issue resolved.
 
Lyra is able to remember the following from forging cold iron with the drow from before:
 
1. Gather the pure iron that is free from impurities
2. Ritual of cleansing must be cast on the iron with an ancient incantation (we have the incantation)
3. Hammer the iron and sharpen it. Must hammer and sharpen in a way that doesn't create heat
4. Quench the iron in a icy bath. The icy bath must have an ice diamond. This would super cool the water- cool to the exact right tempeture. Insert the sword. Ice will cover the sword and then make a giant ice block over the sword.
5. Need a special kind of magma- someting that might be from the plane of fire or something else- that magma would need to melt the ice, but the heat can't get to the cold iron.
 
Symbols on the door:
We touch them in the following order as the golems try to get in.
 
Sacred Pure Metal- red light
Cleansing- yellow light
Hammer- green light
Quench- blue light
We can't quite read the 5th symbol. It means "something" magma - purple light
 
This causes the golems to stop what they are doing, and the wall melts away.
 
We decide to just finish our long rest rather than do anything at this point.

It's CorellonEmber 10th 7am.
 
We wake up to Hazel cooking us the most amazing breakfast. She using the magma from under the floor. It's delicious.
 
Lyra feels rage and anger from Faenor's heart. In a desperate attempt to give him some relief, she tries to fill her own heart with peace and quiet to try and calm him. -- Lyra levels up and works on a planar binding spell that she hopes to use to somehow summon Faenore/Dexa to her. When she tries to connect to Faenores heart to calm him, she connects to the spirit of this place and can sense the dwarves hammering and working here, and it's very comforting. It feels like the dwarven spirits say they will go and try to find Faenore ** will find out later what happens.
 
Lyra's father has been in places before that have lost people, and he's been able to connect with spirits there. It seems to be a Spectralsong family gift that is passed down through the generations.
 
Meanwhile, Stefan checks out a chest in the secret room we found. IT's a fucking mimic. WE fight a couple of mimics an kill them. Tempest finds book/box that has some secret shit in it. it's like a bag of holding but it's a book box.
 
Runestone of the mountain's heart is in there- can use to control magma- so we could use this on the magical ice to save Leland
hammer with Doomstone family crest- it's magical- the metal is very cold- It is always cold. If you use it, it's easier to make cold iron (advantage on rolls)
gold plated dwarven signet ring for the Doomstone family
magical bag of food that regens every 24 hours
1 piece of cold iron ore large enough to make one weapon
and some other shit
 
Hazel suggests that we could open the door that brings back the golems using a signet ring, we may be able to get in. It's a good idea.
 
We go try it.
 
When we open the door, there is a large stone statue that looks like a dwarf . It's some kind of golem. We find a bunch of items/magic items here. We end up finding the forge as well. There is another golem dwarf in here holding a sword, but it doesn't attack us.
 
However, there is another door that Stefan opens. This does activate the golem, but Tempest is able to stop it by using his ring to command it to stop. We decide to take this golem with us once we get out of here. We can put him in the portable hole.
 
Tempest then successfully melts the ice off of Leland. This leaves a single gold diamond on the ground. Lyra goes over to touch it just for a moment, and it freezes her. Luckily Tempest is able to save her before she suffocates.
 
While we decide what to do with this "cold diamond" Tempest investigates the box he has with the fiery egg. He discovers that the box has a pocket dimension in the astral plane preserving it, but it is hatchable. Tempest forges an iron box to put the egg in and lights some coals to keep in warm.
 
Lyra tries to Raise Dead on Tempest. It doesn't work, because she cannot connect with his soul.
 
Lyra tries to tune into her Spectralsong abilities to connect with Leland. However, when she does this, the dwarves she commumed with earlier come back and say they saw Faenor. He's in teh city of brass. Faenor has forged a sword. That sword he used to trap Leland's soul in. Somehow this has happened in a day.
 
Now that he has the heart of woe, it seems to have power of undead and necromancy things. Somehow when Faenore left originally, he must have taken Leland's spirit, and now it's infused with this sword?
 
WE explain this to Stefan and this is where we end.

Mystery fire egg has been bought out this morning.
