Dear diary,
After the others had departed to the dinner with Sofia, an invitation I graciously declined, I took the time alone to find out more about the ritual Sister Willow had told me about. The hags must be hiding it somewhere at Rune Hill, and while I am not nearly as sneaky as Gael or Dadroz, I do have my own ways of scouting unseen. So I lay down on my bed and cast etherealness, allowing me, for the next eight hours, to wander the ethereal plane.
I rushed over to Rune Hill and started looking around. The hill looks somewhat different in this world. There are several small openings leading into the hill, too small to go into, but not too small to send an arcane eye down. What I found inside in a way didn’t surprise me, and on the other hand it did. Buried in a cavern below the hill were Brother Stalker and Sister Willow, asleep. But not on the ethereal plane, on the material one.
So this is where the hags were keeping them imprisoned. But more importantly, this also meant that I could contact Sister Willow directly via the dream spell! No more need of finding obscure lore about them, or casting spells to gain a little bit of information. I could just talk to her directly. But that was for later.
The soft sound of singing drew my attention from the top of the hill, so I went there next. The closer I came to the source, the more it was obvious that this was some sort of lullaby. As I reached the top, four hags came into view, sitting in a circle and singing. Lady Rootskewer, Marblehook and two others I had never seen before. The remainder of the coven.
So with them here, so should be the ritual. After a quick investigation, there is only so much you can do outside of the material plane, the only object of note was a wooden box sitting next to Rootskewer. If it was here, then it would have to be in that box. So a plan started forming in my mind. I would need the others to execute it, or more specifically, I would need Dadroz.
But how to convince them to help me without telling them what the purpose of the ritual is?
