We know our objective. So for now downtime.
Good court and Temple are best for reading.
Panachea can afford luxuries. They do have some constructs doing work when they are sleeping.
We decide to gather resources in the morning and set off in the late afternoon.
Levi and I go to look for some reading material for each of our specialist areas. We go to the Goodcourt’s general store and the owner of the establishment tells us that the count in town has a large library, he often snipes up a lot of books whenever they come into town.
We meet a little lad. A green Kobold who’s obsessed with all sorts of weird potions. We ask for regular healing potions, he sulks and grabs about 50; 300 GP FOR THE LOT… I don’t have the money.
So me and Levi are let into the count’s place. The man is in a chezlong. Hey remember the Dhampire who defended us? This count guy is definitely his dad. He is alive, somewhat. There’s a lot of long ass history there.
He has a non-fiction library that I’m very intrigued to look at their arcane non-fiction. Apparently I have access to that the whole time.
LEVI BRINGS OUT GLOAM
THE COUNT KNOWS GLOAM
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?! I scurry away and briefly say goodbye to go read books and get out of this tense situation. I gather a list of books on Arcana and the Laylines.
It takes us about 2 days of travel to get there. We arrive during a storm. It is raining very heavily when we arrive and it only gets worse when we venture further into the forest.
We arrive at the site where the Panachea is set up. They have fully set up camp. There sniper towers, maybe 2 or 3 charcoal pits.
We also find a wreckage of a robot worker, a smashed kart and a pile of about a dozen low rank Panachea company members. They have been torn asunder by some unknowable force. Nickton finds a trail beyond here. There is a large clearing containing a construct.
I go to touch it, it twitches. Once contact is made, a light hum begins as the construct boots up. This construct is humanoid in shape. It boosts itself up. They’re friendly. Simple but friendly. They’re name is Aqeel. They have been here long. Their purpose is unknown but they have one goal: survival. They appear to be a reforged: a relic of the Rusoné empire. They developed a cult and they would attempt to resurrect their best soldiers by attaching their souls to constructs.
They decide to join us as they do what they need to do in order to protect this place.
We have
Freemen at arms: Chods
Vogal’s exiled guard: Warewolves
Pavice: great snipers
Spadoné: great with chokes and swords
Ogre: specialist
Munitions mage: they have a banner, a staff for casting spells. They are accompanied by a canon.
The current airship they have parked at camp presumably brought in the cavalry.
Aqeek crosses the bridge and OH GOD. Stealth is gone. We’re going in with a full frontal assault.
