We had a drink a long rest.
We buy 2 horses: they are named Puddles (Gold with dark splotches) and “a currently unnamed black horse”.
We’re going to see Holdem the bandit captain again as we try to set up a meeting with the Chengichar.
We find that they have moved but remember they had a ballista with them. We find their tracks and eventually we also find a broken ballista that was shoved into the river.
The ballista was found in a river located near a a small, very isolated village we stumble into.
We’re stopped by guards who want our reason to get into town. I fuck up and Francis takes lead, we get loads of information from an absent minded guard like that the town is being raided by bandits every evening.
Classic village tavern can be found inside.
Holden can be found inside playing cards with a well dressed merchant man who is on a losing streak.
Holden says Chengichar isn’t a good man, with a strange sense of honour and justice. We need to meet him on completely neutral grounds, for our sake and his. The only place he does work that’s close is Sarayaté. In a tavern he frequents by the name of the Teifling’s Advocate.
He will do it but only for a favour: he wants us to get rid of his former companions. They’re scumbags but skilled.
It has to be done by the cover of night. Hey look it’s dusk we gather up Holden’s remaining forces and go for a good ol’ killin’.
Within an hour we arrive at a make-ship camp at the mouth of a cave. We sneak in and aim to strike them while there guard is down and these guys are currently relaxing.
Nickton sees there are no other entrances and Levi and Holden investigate: they know we’re here there’s about 13 of them and they are armed to the teeth. Levi opts to steal all of their bows.
There’s a room at the back and a ridge where they fire arrows from.
Holden was in the military in Ly’cilan. It was fucking awful and made him the man he is today, for better and for worse.
We enact an ambush as we hear shouts and jingling from inside the cave.
