A book that's filled with bad news!!

I've made yet another new friend, Aetrus is interesting like that, lots of folks come through here and I can meet new kinds of folks all the time, not that I particularly want to.....
 
So this new friend happens to be a magic user, and they found a book that "called to them." Already I'm not liking where this is headed. Says the book was in a cave surrounded by some kind of cultists, and out of no where a heap of bandits showed up and started a battle with them. My new friend used this diversion to sneak in and take the book. It turns out, they cannot open or read the cover of this thing and on top of that, those cultists start chasing after the book! So naturally, they sought help, and thats where myself, Draco and Levy come in.
 
We decide to help our new friend out and keep them safe, but to do that, we need to know what's in the book. nothing good I'm sure and boy was I right. It seems the book is written in every single language from all the planes!!! Whatever the rest of them are?!? All I know is that there is a demonic plane and now this book might pose a real threat. So we take it to someone who we think is more well versed in this sorta thing, planes and all that, turns out he's outta town, so we take it to the next best guy. An interesting and powerful person that resides here in Glennhaven. He tells us what the book is and can potentially do, again nothing good if you ask me, but nevertheless, it seems that my friend, Draco and Levy wish to find the key needed to open the book, so we are heading back to that cave. I don't like any of this, it smells of a trap, set by a demon.
 
It's a few days ride, but the elks can provide some horses, being in the military has it's perks. We take a few days to head out to where my friend thinks they remembers the cave my be. The lands of Aetrus are going through some changes here, weird changes, evil ones. They remind me of home..... which puts me on edge. On the 3rd night of travel, we are assailed by Skeletons. I make quick work of them, these lands truly are strange, but now I understand why Lulubell always burned the bodies, if not, they return.
 
We find the cave after hours of searching through swamp and muk. It seemed like things were all quiet, the inside of the cave was littered with the bodies of the bandits....who started to get up and attack us, to make things worse, there master is the spell caster of sorts hiding behind this dumb altar. I rush him immediately, he to is not alive, but his body is stronger than the other undead. It took many slices but with my blade and those I was protecting he finally met his end at the hands of Levy.
 
These cultists were trying to use this book to bring about this god named Meridian, who I've learned is some sorta hell god, can you believe that?!?! Told you that book was filled with bad news. In any case, I think I will keep a close eye on my new friend. They and Draco seem really interested in finding the key to open that book. I should probably... help... them with that.
