New town, New faces...Jump in this portal.

I arrived here in town, the security here isn't terrible, but I've seen better. I can see why Takamochi was needed here. I'm excited to reunite with my sparring partner and chess teacher. There is not much to this town, a few sparse building in construction as well as homes.
 
As it turns out, one can purchase land and build a new home upon it for some gold. I have never had a home, the thought amuses me. A home to call my own, one that I own. Going to have to find some work.
 
There is work here, a young wizard asked that I step into a book and try to find her friend Matreius, another wizard. This is why I don't like magic. Not sure what she means by entering a book, but she seems harmless enough. Two Dwarves join me, Ulgar and Dwufe, strange people indeed, not many Dwarves in Yashiro, and a half-elf named Adrain as well, not sure what his deal is. We meet up at Lulubell's home here, she opens a book, says some words and suddenly a freaking portal opens up in front of us. Well, here's goes nothing.
 
We enter what looks a home? Just a really nice looking home.... Still things feel off, but we immediately find Matreius, He seems agitated and a little paranoid, he's holding a small statue. We exit the portal being held open by the halfling wizard. As Matreius exits, the statue grows into a freaking demon. I try to engage it, but Lulubell was pushed away by the demon, closing the portal, sealing us in.
 
Damn, we let that thing out and have no idea how to open the door again. We start scouring the space within this portal for something that will let us out. This place is weird. The outside is a layer of gross purple mist that can kill you, brooms go around sweeping by them selves or hit you if you interrupt them, but if you cut them in half they stop moving. Chairs in here have teeth and bite wizards. And dear gods!!! ALL THE CREEPY GROSS THINGS IN JARS!!! Ulgar likes them...Dwarves are strange.
 
Turns out this home was an older wizards laboratory and they may have been messing with forces of evil and undead. Another great reason to not like magic. We find a a room that is filled with telescopes and enchanted walls that look like the outside. After lining them up in certain positions, a door opens up to a smaller room with a large dresser. THE FREAKING DRESSER IS ALIVE!!! I REALLY HATE MAGIC!!!
 
We found a bunch of books with nothing in them, except for a letter on the cover, The letters spell "liberty" and the portal to exit opens up. we leave with everything we found and start looking for the the halfling and her friend. Lulubell had been wounded and hid in a closet with the almost dead Matreius. We hunt the demon down and like all the others I have faced in Yahiro, it fell. I take my payment and tell the young wizard, if she should need me again, I will assist her. I take the gold and small magical globe of light called a Driftglobe. So some magic can be okay, I guess... I purchase my first home... a life here could be quiet and nice.
