Scouting the Mountains

by Borris

We were tasked by the prince to scout the mountains and watch for any movement by the orc army. The first camp we came to Sam helped the injured soldiers, even though they were being an ass to us, and healed quite a few of their number. On our way up the mountain, we stumbled across a small orc camp where we found a lot of different battle plans in their main tent. I'm very surprised we were able to sneak by all the orcs, thankfully it rained the whole time so our noisy footsteps were covered. We sent the plans that we could to the prince and also received a reply from the goblins on behalf of their leader. I sent the sheet to the main leader of the goblins...his name eludes me still but my party members remember. Their memory is much better than mine! We continued past the camp and headed farther up the mountain, we started coming across a lot of spider webs, but not the normal small, kind of annoying ones. These were big enough to snare a normal man. Out of no where we were attacked by these massive spider looking beings, they were a lot tougher than I thought they would be. I got very lucky on my first hit an cut right through one of their armored legs. We survived that encounter and continued...wanting to be stealthy my party did not agree with my plan to burn the webs.

As we continued up Sam kept seeing small eyes watching us, my guess is they lived in the mountains and were afraid of both us and the orcs. Not to long of marching farther on we came across a clearing, discovering that the Drow we ran into days ago was on this very same mountain with us. Fucking talking to a giant as spider and feeding it people...what else would I expect from him, he was not nice to us at all in the cave even though we were trying to help him.

Now we are facing a choice, do we fight the drow/spider/and spider whisperer or do we run on by and priorities getting to the top of the mountain?
