Traveling North

by Borris

Once aboard the floating mountain we had to decide what to do. Everyone was for going back to my homeland and figuring out what was going on up there. From what I could tell in my dreams it was not good. We quickly gathered items and enlisted the help of a goblin mage to fly one of their slabs for us. Leaving the horses behind...cause no one wanted to tie them under the rock like I did...we started flying north. The first day was uneventful, we touched down in orc territory so K and I stayed awake and watched for any trouble while everyone else slept. Once Sam woke up he joined us outside, K tried to teach him about a thing called meditation? I'm not totally for sure what it is, the way she described it was fighting with your eyes closed...I don't know how well that works when you can't see what you are hitting. While Sam was attempting this mediation fighting thing Aerilyn saw an opportunity, quickly running up behind Sam she clocked him in the back of the head. It was funny and also a touch mean, poor dude was just trying to figure out K was talking about. Aerilyn thankfully apologized to him and we got back onto the slab. That night Noelani, Aerilyn and Sam all started drinking...which made it a little difficult to sleep, but they seemed to have a good time which made up for it. I think Sam thought he was drinking regular tea, I don't think he realized it had alcohol in it...probably the best tea he's had! The next day our Goblin wizard put us down in another field and K and I kept watch. Unfortunately it was not as quite as the first day. Sam, who was still awake even after having several Long Island ice teas, spotted a small goblin in the distance running towards us. Knowing that Goblins are kind creatures, since the only goblins I have met were the mountain dwelling ones, I ran out to meet him. Seeing he was tired from running I carried him back to the slab and my friends. The weird little dude started paying me gold to hold him...telling me there would be more if I carried him the whole time. Wanting to make some money I didn't see any harm in it.

Chaos followed bringing back the stranger. Apparently he wasn't a goblin, even though he looked like a goblin and smelled like a goblin. He offered us gold to drop him off somewhere but it wasn't really on our way so we made a deal to drop him off in Yinar which is much closer to Sgand, the place he was trying to go. The strange man was very taken by me and Sam...I think he has a thing for short people. Not wanting to prop any interest Sam and I slept outside. I am also not a huge fan of his demeanor, he comes across very snotty and I'm afraid he will speak ill of my friends. If he does he will be quickly left behind to fend for himself.

As my dreams continue developing I am growing more nervous about going back to my homeland. It has been quite a long time since I have seen it. I wonder what has changed, if anything of my old village is still standing. I'm glad I have my friends with me though, it will make returning to such a dreadful place bearable.
