Entry 1 - Mission Start

by Exiled Grand Inquisitor Cybil Crownier

INCANDESCENT MOONS 1-5 MEETING THE COMPANY
I entered the "On The Road" inn yesterday. Sat down, had some water, waited for my new comrades to arrive and introduce themselves. No surprise my reputation precedes me, not that I care in the slightest. Lets see, where do I begin with this... Kevin greeted me, generally friendly guy, till he heard my name.
That's when I knew things weren't going to go well. I could tell right away that the others (Ashe, Conrad, and my old pal Yitoshk) weren't fond of me, maybe even scared. Cowards shouldn't let their emotions rule them like that, and I suspect this will be a running trend that I have to deal with...
Maybe I might even have to take over at some point and run this shit show myself. Anyways, Ashe tried to immediately get under my skin, to no success, and poke at my past.
Seems this little girl thinks she can get away with anything, doubt it's cause she actually can. I've dealt with people like this before. A few days with me should stop this
(NOTE : Consider mental or physical punishment to adjust behavior, worked well on battle hardened soldiers, should work here).

Conrad was a shy young kid, apparently poor performance in combat because of low self esteem, and quite apparently afraid of me.
(NOTE : It might be possible to fix this by pushing him into situations of extreme duress to harden his spirit)
And there was Yitoshk. Clearly a sad drunk that can't let the things he did go and fade into the past. It's quite honestly, pathetic. Seeing this strong man that I was once infatuated with sink so low disgusts me, but I can see that he does reign in the rest of this crew. Surprisingly he instructed everyone to try and be "friendly" with me so we can focus on the tasks given to us in a strict and professional manner.
(NOTE : Cause of addiction related to the horrible acts we committed together, ween him off the alcohol. There's bad people capable of good things, and good people that have done bad things, reassure him he's the latter)
Aside from this, it seems they were able to set aside their hatred of me and deal with it for the time being.
Kasvaar assigned us the task of finding a "turtle man" as Yistoshk would say. No reason why was given, but we are to find and retrieve him so that's what I'm going to do.

TAKING OFF
We left the company early, gaining info on where the Taudon might be located.
We encountered an abandoned house shortly after leaving.
Ashe decided it would be fun to invade a possible dwelling owned by someone while they weren't there. It seems like they might have gone to farm or go hunting, nothing of note was wrong so we moved on.
(NOTE : Ashe exhibits behavior that continues to show how unreliable and/or unprofessional she is. It's possible the mission might be compromised due to her, research more methods of behavior readjustment.)

Conrad seems to be quite adept at potion making, and I'm impressed. I didn't take anything the kid made, he needs it more than I do if the future events that unfolded are anything to go off of.
After setting up camp near our target location, Conrad was on watch as we slept. Pathetic reptilian creatures attacked us and wounded him.
Ashe ran into the shadows and offered acceptable combat support while I dealt with several targets alone. Conrad ran away from the fight, I thought he may be actually useless, until he reappeared to help Yitoshk who was also dealing with several other targets. It seems he hasn't lost his touch in combat despite the constant drunken stupor and lack of sleep.
Overall things in this encounter were barely acceptable, but acceptable. Kevin was a problem. He slept in a tree, had the advantage on targets, failed his attack, nearly died, ran away like a coward instead of regrouping on me, and disgusted me with his performance. Despite the antics we succeeded and captured one target.
Another Taodon was tracking this filth. Baka was his name and assured us he'd lead our group to the targets location after some rest. Apparently he knew the other Turtle we were looking for.
I'm putting down my journal for the night to get some rest as I write this, hopefully nothing else goes wrong.
