The Red Snow

by Klark Daemon

We barely managed to survive. I can't believe it, I prepared for it but I still found my will shattered at the presence of a bloody Red Dragon. It's been a hectic couple of hours. We helped seize the Duergar's equipment from a Frost Giant. Which sent us on a mission to destroy the last pillar of hope these giants had. Their herssir, Gregganor I believe currently keeping a strong grip on the camps morale. Though it seems a thread attached itself between the herssir and our ally Ranfearg. I was hesitant to follow the Wolves demands, but was left overturned by the Guardians own will. They seemed to teleport out of the Longhouse before we were able to end his life.

That's when Dredoc found the infiltrator. A Red Dragon, disguised to be one of the slaves. Zaxel was the deciding vote in provoking the Dragons fury when he dispelled the arcane magic it was under. That spelled the end for our time in the longhouse. I was barely able to get us out of there. I was alerted to the possibility of danger that would befall the very people I promised to save. That possibility was more akin to fact when I felt the sense of dread and failure coming from the Frost Giant I had turned into my thrall.

The blessings of Sarenrae healed my burns, but the scars remain. Though the scars of my actions will pervade my mind for the rest of my days. The very people I promised sanctuary now lay dead at my feet. I told them no harm would come to them. I lied to them. Their blood is on my hands. Unfortunately the giants gave me no time to mourn my actions. When we arrived at the pens, the Giants tasked with guarding the pens seem to have had their last ounce of displeasure, deciding it was in their best interest to take some of the slaves as their own. We managed to save those that remained.

I now sit across from my Frost Giant and those that have died because of my actions. I shall pray to Sarenrae, hope that she may speak to the Queen of Graves in an effort to expedite their path to their final resting place.

I hope it was painless.

How could I have sent them here?
