My Experience with Kuon

by Telvar Almaron

It was only yesterday that I ended up bonding closer to Graves after a misunderstanding about him taking the affections of Kuon. He told me that he would never go after her since 1) he's taken, and 2) he now knows of my particular interest in her. She's an elusive one; usually I can't find her or she's asleep. But today was my first time to get to know her as a person for real; here I shall write about my experience.

The morning was with its usual shenanigans. I was talking to Hammerhoof about how I visited the temple of Kyrenar, and how there were a bunch of macho people in there. Pandoura called them "meatheads", creating a conflict that I was fortunate enough to stay out of. I then noticed Kuon as she woke up, groaning in pain (presumably from excess alcohol consumption). Fortunately, Graves was able to cure her and she felt better after that. Knowing she was up and about, I quickly inquired to Graves with telepathy on what to do. He suggested that I ask if we can walk around town together, so that's what I did. She gladly took the offer, and that was just the beginning...

As we just got out the Sandbar, I asked her what she thought of Havenport. She said that despite the entire place being made out of boats, everyone was nice compared to her home where they judged her by mixed heritage. I personally related; I was shunned as both a Half-Elf and a sorcerer of Shadow. I also asked about her past, which apparently wasn't a good move. Her expression shifted to a somber one, so I quickly reacted and told her that "it is not the past who determines who you are now". Another thing I asked was why she goes on adventures in the first place. She was bored with her previous life, so she escaped to this place for the better. To answer my own question, I talked about how I initially adventured to escape poverty; but with so much excess from the rewards, I dedicated a good portion to charity. She seemed to love that, judging by her hugging me tightly after mentioning it. Afterwards, I told her about my trip to the temples of Mizuno, Kyrenar, Amani, and Imni. I got a bit emotional towards the end, but she comforted me and said it was an interesting story; especially since she doesn't involve herself with religion. She then told me she plans to go on an adventure soon, as she has been gathering the courage to do so. We then continued walking around town as she was holding my arm. I noticed her eyes again, simply saying they brought me joy every time I saw them. We ended up sitting at a dock, where I told her about my nightly terror predicament and the quest with the mad Warlock. After thinking about how she would be embarking on another adventure, I begged of her that she knows her limits, and that I don't want to hear of anyone perishing. Especially her. I once again became emotional, then being given reassurance and all that. With the calm waters at the dock, she then fell asleep with her head in my lap for about an hour. It was quite a sight to behold: perhaps the prettiest lady I have ever met was taking a nap. In my lap. I couldn't disturb her, so my legs fell asleep and stayed that way even after she woke up. When she did, she noticed my eye bags and asked we return to the Sandbar. I tried to get up, but I fell down given the lacking blood circulation in my legs. Thankfully, she was able to help me stay on my feet as we went back together.

It was quite an experience, indeed! What I took from my time with her was that her past is a no-no to talk about, and that she is impressed with noble goals. So as long as I continue going on my path of kindness, compassion, love, and a greater calling... things should play out pretty nicely!
