Who's the new guy?

Upon awaking from a successful long rest, a sudden loud crashing sound is heard from somewhere deep in the Fortress. Osha takes out the hexagon stone she found perviously and looks it over once again. It has a Dwarven ruin on it, so she asks Siegrane to have a look. He informs Osha that it stands for the letter "O". Osha thinks it may be a key for a secret passage somewhere. The stone was from the Throne Room, so we all agree we should go back to the Throne Room to see if we can find a use for it. On the way back to the Throne Room, they find a Dwarven woman in the Great Hall. She was on an expedition with her guild looking for a special Lute, and suddenly she found herself in the Fortress. She was educated at the Bard College. She introduces herself as SIEGRIED FLINTBRAIDE, Siggy for short. Everyone is confused as to how Siggy entered the Fortress, as the Portculess is now shut tight again. Siggy says she last remembers her friend, and then everything went blank.
 
Back in the Throne Room, Caldae thoroughly investigates the room finding nothing useful, other than it appears very clean compared to the rest of the Fortress. The group has a discussion about the possibilities of using fireplace chimney as escape routes, as it appeared that the couple in the other room had intended on escaping through the fireplace, which ended up being blocked by rubble. Alleraia talks Caldae into forming a flame ball to get a better look up the chimney. Everyone takes cover, not trusting the pyromaniac Druid. The chimney appears unblocked.
 
Caldae asks Siggy where she's from, and she says UNDERHILL. Next we enter the room where the Gibbering Mouther came out of. It is Dining Room. Alleraia asks Siggy if she was good at history and she says yes, so I ask if she knows anything about Axeholm. Siggy says it isa few centureies old and founded by the clan Flack Banner. The leader was named ORISEK and he was the Castellan of the fortress. The clan floundered because of their own evil deeds, they worshipped a demon lord. There was a small clan and they all died at Axholm. They wiped themselves. out. None of them are left.
 
In the corner of the dining room, we found a hole that has been carved in the floor of the dining room. Siegrane and Alleraia investigate it, and it smells musty and rotted. The hole appears climbable. Caldae goes into the kitchen and finds that the faucet still provides hot, clean water. The druids decide to use the water to clean themselves up. Siegrane and Siggy decide to jump down the hole and look around. Siegrane goes in first and Siggy tries to follow but ends up falling on top of Siegrane. Once at the bottom, they find themselves walking over old, moldy bones. Quickly they realize this was likely a garbage shoot for the dwarves. Siggy finds a nice iron mug with an embossed bear on it, and they also find some old silverwear. They crawl back out of the hole and rejoin the others.
 
Allearai searches the kitchen and discovers that the stove is still functional. Caldae and Siegrane go back out into the throne room and head towards the stairs in the back corner that they believe lead up to where the Banshee is. Listening intently, they do hear a Banshee wailing. We all decide to bravely go up the stairs and face the Banshee. A chill meets us at the top of the stairs, along with the increasingly frequent sounds of Banshees. There is a very long hallway at the top of the stairs, covered in centuries old layers of dust. Siggy opens one of the doors on the hallway to find an old bath house filled with skeletons. Caldae moves the bones to find a huge pile of 12 gold bars. Among the bones, Caldae finds odd shaped bones, almost dragon like in nature.
 
The group searches the rest of the room. Siggy discovers a large floor mirror that has been completely shattered. Why has it been shattered? Next we go through the door at the far side of the room. We are immediately greeted by the ghostly form of a Banshee, who glares at us from under her hair and lets out a long mournful wail. The Banshee speaks in a creepy voice, and indicates for us to follow her. We follow her into an adjacent room, and when we enter with our bright lights she shrieks, so I turn the light off. The Banshee gazes at a mirror across the room and lets out an enraged cry as we begin battle.
 
Siggy immediately shatters the mirror, but the Banshee is in a rage. She seems especially enraged at Alleraia, who is shining the bright light into the room . Siggy tries to figure out how intelligent this creature is. She appears fairly intelligent, definetly more so than a beast, and she's very angry. Osha enters the room and grabs a large piece of the broken mirror, and then approaches the Banshee going into a rage. She holds up the piece of mirror in front of the Banshee. The Banshee looks into the mirror and lets out a blood curdling scream, causing her to retreat further into the room. She turns and lets out another scream and it vibrates in all of our heads. Caldae steps forward and casts moonbeam on the Banshee., causing the Banshee to writhe and disturb her from screaming.
 
Howdore stumbles up to her and tries to grab the Banshee and cover her mouth because she is too loud and he doesn't like it. The Banshee breaks away from the Moonbeam into another corner of the room and once again begins her screaming. The sound fills the minds of our party members. Osha and Caldae are able to resist the sound, but the rest of the party begin to writhe as the screaming takes hold causing us to be filled with abject terror. We crouch in the corner covering our ears and try to hide. Pip comes from the hallway and tries to shoot his bow at the Banshee, and it actually hits her in the heart and causes some damage. He then retreats back into the hallway. Alleraia places a healing spirit square in the room before cowering again smashing her hears until they bleed. Siggy casts Bardic Inspiration on alleraia. Osha takes a swing at the Banshee with her silver sword, it appears to go through her but catches just slightly as the silver coating causes the Banshee to sizzle a wail. Osha then holds up the mirror to the Banshee again, but this time she is unaffected and lashes out smashing the mirror out of Osha's hands causing it to shatter to the floor. Caldae uses her concentration to reposition the Moonbeam over the Banshee. Bits of the Banshee begin to fall away, flakes of hair and skin collecting beneath her.
 
Howdore shakes off the effects of the Banshee, but poor Droop falls from his shoulder cracking his head open on the stone floor. Howdore scoops up Droop and charges out of the room with him all the way down the hallway. The Banshee flails about, trying to strike Osha, but missing. Osha notices the bolt Pip had shot the Banshee with. Pip sticks his head in the door trying to calm the frightened party members, he then charges into the room approaching the banshee and grabbing the bolt he had shot her with earlier, trying to stab her again, but missing. Alleraia breaks out of the Banshee's hold and casts a second moonbeam on her. Siggy is also able to break out of the Banshees control and casts Dissonant Whispers on the Banshee, causing the Banshee's eyes to widen, her head twitching, as she seems incapacitated by the Bard's spell. The Banshee appears terrified and suddenly her form disappears through the wall.
 
Siegrane and Alleraia go into the hallway to find Howdore and the injured Droop, but as they round the corner, the Banshee appears before them. Alleraia heals Droop for 6 points and then falls back away from the Banshee. Siggy runs into the hallway and casts Hideous Laughter on the Banshee causing the Banshee to charge directly at Siggy. Siegrane and Howdore swings at the Banshee as she passes, but they both miss. The Banshee wails with sorrowful rage at Siggy, but siggy stands her ground, smiling sadistically at the Banshee. Caldae pulls her moonbeam spell into the hallway directing it on top of the Banshee. The Banshee writhes in pain, screeching pitifully. Pip charges at the Banshee with his silver dagger, throwing it as it passes through the Banshee, knocking her backwards.
 
Osha tries to bait the Banshee to come towards her and fight her, but the Banshee is too busy wailing sorrowfully to bother. Howdore makes an attack on the Banshee while gently holding Droop in one arm. He takes out his great axe swings wildly at the Banshee, causing her form to dissipate, as she turns into ghostly, glittering ash.
 
Alleraia investigates a dresser in the room where they had fought the Banshee. She finds 4 sets of travel clothing in a dresser and stuffs them in her sack to use for bandages later. There is an interesting painting of dwarves on the wall she wants to ask Siggy about. The room appears to have been cleared out at some point. Looking under the mattress, she finds a small tear in the mattress. Reaching in she feels something hard and pulls out a stone black spider statue with small rubies for eyes.
 
Osha sees a ghostly elven woman near the end of the bed after alleraia has left the room . She is confused about where she is, she says the Dwarves have begun to suspect what she is. The scene plays out, and you hear the name VYLDARA. She was praying to LOLTH.
 
Meanwhile, Siggy storms down the hallway towards a door there. She flings the door open to find a Privy with wooden toilets. Alleraia then calls her back into the bedroom to ask her about the painting in the bedroom It is the paining of the feast of Gauntlgrym. A historical event of the fortress beneathe Mount HOTENOW https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Mount_Hotenow . This painting commemorates the clan before the fortress was over-run by demons beneath. They dug too deep into the mountain. Mount Howtenow is near NEVERWINTER. The fortress is called GAUNTLGRYM.
 
Osha comes out until the hallway to tell the party about the apparition she saw in the bedroom, she also notices that she is having memory issues. Everyone seems to be having memory issues.
 
Siggy and Osha go down the hallway and enter another bed chamber. Siggy goes to investigate the fireplace, she sees an intersting thing in the back of the fireplace, but before she can look and flock of STURGES fly out of the fireplace. The first one attacks Osha, as she side steps it and lashes out with her sword. Caldae wild shapes into a giant hyena. She leaps on the largest Sturge biting at it, but it is pushed out of the way by Osha's attack. Siggy slices her rapier at it,but also misses. Osha goes into a rage and wrecklessly attacks the giant sturge, slicing off it's tail. Alleraia calls Pip in to help and he takes a shot with his bow, landing a blow right under its probiscus, killing it dead.
 
The small sturges decend on the party to seek revenge on their leader. Alleraia casts Primal Savergy and kills one of the Sturges off Osha. Caldae tears apart three more sturges., and then turns to the one on Siggy. Caldae rips it off her neck destroying it. She next turns to the Sturge on Osha and shreds the final sturge.
 
Osha grabs the silver medallion off of the biggest stirge corpse. Showing it to Siggy because it is in Dwarven, she translates the name, it says "BARKUS". Osha finally finds the Hexagon key lock in the back of the fireplace. clicking it in, it reveals a secret room! Inside the room is a locked chest. Osha tries to use her thieves tools, she sees inside a signet of a DWARVEN GAUNTLET etching.
 
The party goes on a search for the key to the chest. Siegrane breaks down a door and on the other side is a ghost of a Ghast playing an organ. "He says, do you like it BARKUS?" Siegrane suddenly remembers that he looted a Gold signet ring off of the Ghast earlier, and everyone runs back to open the chest. The signet ring is indeed the key to the chest. Inside they find a magic LUTE for Siggy and a set of Dwarven armor. A set of gauntlets and a helmet, that are of superior craftsmanship made of a rare dwarven alloy that tints the metal a goldish/bronze hue. Siegrane puts on the fancy new armor. It gives him additional strength and the helmet gives him a fierce demonic look!
 
Alleraia and Siggy go back to the room with the organ and inspect it. Some of the pipes and wood have been damaged. Siegrane enters the room and goes out onto the balcony that overlooks the great hall. alleraia notices that the orb begins to glow again. Nothing in the room seems odd, but Caldae is alone in the hallway and sees apparitions appear. Several dwarf soldiers flanking a guy and "I told you im in consultation with my kin" says the elven woman. The dwarf lord say, "you lie witch! you consult demons in your own head!" the women says"I know not of what you speak good Castellan, " the dwarf lord spits on the ground. He says "fuck peace. you lead us to our own destruction. we've seen the beast coming from your quarters. " the elven woman takes a feral stance, "you speak of fiends ORISEK? tell your men of the prayers you say at night. Say the name of the demon in your own skull" Valdara the elf runs back into the bedroom with the soldiers hot on her tail.
 
Osha yells out in her booming voice, "Is there anyone else here?!" No answer.
