A new member and quest

by Conrad Brauer

Today begins with a tale that happened the night before. A tale I am wishing didn't happen. It has been a while since our core group of Yitoshk , Ashe, Kevin and I have had a job, and when Kasvaar told us that he was adding another to our group and giving us a mission. At first I was ecstatic, since this meant we would get more money, and more money means I can buy potion ingredients, or I can save cash by searching the wilds for some ingredients. Sad to say, any excitement I had for the upcoming job died as soon as I saw who our new member would be. Cybil Crownier, the most well known "hero" of Laelon and the killer of many magic users, was our new member. What kind of sick joke is Kasvaar trying to pull.

Needless to say this meeting was a disaster, what with that woman saying that her murders were in the past and then informing us that Yitoshk participated in the hunts as well. God if it weren't for Yitoshk playing me with liquor, I'm sure that the memories of fire would have kept me awake. Strange to think that Yitoshk and that woman had some sort of past, to where she thinks she can cozy up to him to make her stay more amicable than what she deserves. Funny to think that the woman who slaughtered many, was actually a person who could have been the victim if she hadn't led the charge. Fuck this woman, and fuck Yitoshk for telling me to "get along with her". I was about to leave this stupid meeting and sleep off the inevitable hang over, but Kasvaar, the bastard, was waiting outside to drag me back in.

Apparently we were to find some turtle man in the east. Why this was given to us and Kasvaar not doing his job, I don't know. All I know is that that woman tried to appoint herself our leader. Fuck her. I took my leave of the group when Yitoshk bought us rooms at On the Road and slept off the ale.

Once the morning came, Ashe tried to lighten the mood by pranking Yitosk before we left. I admit, it was a good prank, but we still had to meet up with Omaro to learn about this turtle man we were to recruit.

So far our journey hasn't been hard, escept for being side tracked by what looked to be a hunter's home. We didn't go in (or rather at least I didn't), but the place was empty. A needless stop, but that's fine we were still able to get back on track and go east. It wasn't until we stopped for the night that we finally saw some action. Who knew that the famed witch killer used magic. Either way, no one took any real damage thankfully.
