The Burgeaters are a loose collection of Frankish man-at-arms and militia members. They are known for being made up of the dregs of the Frankish military, from petty criminals, to scum & misfits from other regiments, to soldiers who are insubordinate. The size of the units are nominally 10 per unit to allow for leaders to easily control the men, but can be mobbed up, or spaced closed together for for larger battles. They can be surprisingly effective, as they are made up of men who are adaptable, and never shirk from a fight. If they survive long enough, they can be sent to a more respectable unit, and maybe earn a commendation too.
