Stern and almost Puritanical in his work ethic, Marco has built his family's lumber business into the largest in Rathgar. Combining his shrewd business sense with good fortune and touch of ruthlessness, he has managed to purchase a seat on the City Council and has no plans on settling down as he ages. His son, Paolo, certainly can't manage the lumber empire.

Sawmill Owner
Marco's own father always reminded him that the Wrights might not be one of Rathgar's wealthiest families, but there among the oldest. That sentiment has not stopped Marco from ruthless pursuing both wealth and power while managing the families milling business. Known for his heartless tactics, he has often leveraged the things that his family has in spades - the lands around his mill - refusing to sell his timbers and masts to shipwrights at lower prices, instead piling them up on by the mill's back door until price invariably rose again. The move nearly bankrupt him one summer and if it wasn't for the unfortunate fire that burned down the only other mill of any size to the ground just as Wrights coffers emptied, he might have had to find real work of his own. As fortune would have it, he made a killing after the fire and bought his way onto the Rathgar City Council.
Marco may have purchased the seat and certainly does his duty on the council, but strives to keep his nose clean of the politics that powered the rise and hastened the fall of other families. With workman like precision he has grown his family's position over the past two decades and shows no signs of changing his tactics. While he has tried to impress this attitude on his son, he worries that Paolo is more interested in dances and soirees than bettering the family business. As such, despite his many years, he has no intentions of turning over the reigns to his son anytime soon.
