Becklin Uth Viharin is a Solamnic Knight of the Order of the Crown who, in her earlier years, adventured with Ispin Greenshield and Cudgel Ironsmile. For the last decade, she has served as castellan of Thornwall Keep.

Becklin is a Knight of Solamnia and good friend of Ispin. She has a fascination of Krynn’s lost history and spends most of her free time excavating under Thornwall Keep’s ruins. She was originally assigned to protect the town as a form of quiet retirement. However, due to Vogler’s ingrained distrust towards the Knights of Solamnia, Becklin spent years in Vogler both lonely and bored until she recruited a young man named Darrett to become her squire.

Investigating the Death of Ispin Greenshield

The adventurers first met Becklin while on their way to rendezvous with Ispin Greenshield and his contact, Darrett Highwater. Becklin shared the unhappy news of Ispin's demise two days prior to their arrival, but dissented from the official report of village officials that Ispin's death was the result of a wild animal attack. Becklin's sharp mind concluded it was unlikely for Ispin to have unsuccessfully battled a simple wild animal, that he was found several miles from his usual patrol route, and that while his surface injuries may have seemed consistent with a wild animal attack, the powerful blow that pierced through his plate armor seemed unlikely within the capabilities of any wild creature of which she was aware. She offered to lead the adventurers to inspect the location where Ispin's body was found, and asked the party to participate in the funeral for Ispin the next morning.
