Viridian is a water genasi. Her earliest memories were as a member of the Damarien And Delirium Travelling Troupe, where she was put on display for her ability to control water. She was very close with Romeindra, as they were of a similar age. There the similarities ended; Rome was outgoing and fiery, loving being in front of an audience, while Viridian - her birth name - or Viri, as Rome called her, was shy, introverted, and calm. Despite their differences, they were drawn together and were best friends until Rome's departure from the caravan as a child forced them apart.
Viridian's time with the Troupe came to an end on a fateful trip across the Rashtara Span. Not wanting to miss some scheduled performances, the group pushed across the span in a storm. Viri was using her ability to manipulate water to try and clear a path through the torrential rain. Wanting to give her support, Rome's youngest brother, Elios Damarien, put his arm around Viri to steady her. The unexpected touch caused her to lose control of the water, directing it at Elios and pushing him off the span and into the sea far below. She jumped after him, finding as she entered the water that she'd subconsciously shifted forms, becoming a dolphin, but despite her efforts, she couldn't find Elios, alive or dead.
Fearing to return to the caravan and face the Damariens, Viri swam, eventually coming to shore on the southeast Nythenor Plains. Trying to avoid people, she took the name Ornalia, cutting all ties with her past. She lived alone for a time, eventually recognizing her druidic calling and seeking out training. She now lives alone beneath the waters of the Silverdew Pools in J'Zanassi Forest, where she acts as the forest's silent protector.
