Joe is an eccentric, slightly paranoid man with a serious drug addiction, which he finances by breeding, importing, and selling exotic animals. He's not really sure quite where he comes from anymore, and has an assortment of odd hangers-on at all times, but does have a genuine affection for his animals. He attributes every possible misfortune to his lifelong enemy, and even invents convoluted conspiracies about them, plotting and railing against them constantly.
