Krag is the keeper and gravedigger of Saltmarsh's cemetary, to the north of the . He keeps the large boneyard, and the memorial stones of those who have died at sea, well-tended and looks after it like his own little kingdom.
Locals often refer to the Half Orc as "The Scholar", perhaps sarcastically, for Krag fancies himself an expert on local history and lore. He also considers himself somewhat of an amateur sleuth. Regardless, he is certainly well-read, for in his spare time he helps organise and translate the library of Eliander Fireborn, with whom he is close friends.
Krag takes an interest in the histories and lives of those interred in the graveyard, and this feeds into his quest for more knowledge.

Together with his friend Eliander Fireborn he set a trap for the killer, who turned out to be working on behalf of a smuggling gang.
