Report of events under Torrica

Regarding Chapter Master Brox Tarsten Giantslayer, leader of the Torrica Chapter of the Eldritch Inquisition. The following is a report of events that transpired last midweek, during the earthquake that shattered parts of Torrica.
 
My investigations, and the guiding hand of the Fae Lady, led me to the tavern known as the "Goblin's Hob". Here we had a chance encounter with some fellow adventurers, who perhaps were mystically drawn here as well. It wasn't long before we heard a rumble and experienced following earthquakes. The ground of the tavern sank below our feet and created a massive sinkhole, with three rat-like individuals emerging. I did not realize at the time, but I now suspect these individuals are Wererats.
 
The timely arrival of the local city guard convinced some of my more hesitant companions to investigate the nature of this hole. With our most daring adventurer, Feyline, leading the way we descended. Below we encountered sounds of a scratching nature, echoing throughout underground cave systems. As we followed the noise that seemed to be all surrounding, we eventually stumbled upon a cavern of fungal folk, who seemed to be able to psychically communicate with one another. We quickly realised that this colony was not responsible for the earthquakes and we soon departed, but not before one of our number, Shanae, pledged their loyalty to the colony.
 
We also learned of a colony of goblins living underground, though we avoided them with little effort. I shudder to think of their allegiance. Finally we made our way to the source of the earthquakes, where my careful investigations led to the discovery of a circular collection of pillars, inscribed with runes of Abjuration. These runed pillars create a shield that is keeping in an unknown creature as we speak. My investigations thus far have yet to reveal the nature of this creature.
 
While investigating, we were assaulted by a female spider humanoid. This creature, clearly insane, assaulted us. The creature was dealt with quickly after one of my companions, el'Drid, damaged it to the point where it no longer stood a chance. One adventurer named Val discovered markings on the creature's neck that bear resemblance to the logo of the Merchant's Guild. They are clearly involved, but how I've yet to unravel.
