Confrontation

We teleport to the desert for the final confrontation.
 
We are in the midst of a sea of sand. Dunes crest and fall around us in petrification, only shifting as a breeze crosses over. The only point that differs in the distance is a solemn dark horizon of storm clouds. Within this storm there is a dark coliseum, filled with gargoyles and siege weapons, but without second thought we rush towards the structure with conviction. A hail of stones collide with our giant companions and impacting the sand around us but we reach the coliseum and cry our warcries. The gargoyles descend and flurry through us with their shredding claws. Raising my shield and buffetting the attacks as they come I manage to clear the first barrage and we continue to the center of the structure. Zug drinks a potion and turns herself into a giant, grabbing Ines and I we rush to the center where there is a massive pit. With yells of excitement we drop into the pit to find a hidden temple that has been reclaimed by our dragonic foe.
 
This place is a hidden treasure in the desert, a place of worship to long forgotten deities but has now been claimed by the ancient blue dragon. Amongst the sand littered floor and stone masonry high dunes cover Imreth who lays in wait and springs into action catching everyone but Zug off-guard. The battle was grueling, painful, and long but with our combined efforts we managed to beat the ancient blue dragon... or so we thought. As the final blow shatters the spine of the dragon the dust settles from the skirmish to reveal that we were fighting a stone replica of Imreth who was magically altered to look like the real creature. Ines believes strongly that although this fight was difficult, the fight with Imreth will be a lot worse...
