When she was young, her father was killed during a raid by the Jhorash'Tal tribe. They were wealthy enough to afford to relocate to the less threatened town of Teryk and reestablish themselves. She would learn much of the word of the god Boldrei from a huntress who lived in the area. Xaneph resolved herself to help her neighbors in whatever way the Gods decided she was able, since she was never skilled with a weapon.
