XXII. Reunion
General Summary
Rushing through the fire giant’s lair, a Fire Giant's sword suddenly cut through one of the tapestries hanging from the the wall, heading down towards Alizeh. Achilla rushed up and threw up her shield to defend her. When they entered the throne room, the party saw Valoryn again, standing to the side of King Snurre's throne. His expression was unreadable, but it appeared that he had betrayed them to join Snurre’s ranks alongside the other Drow in attendance. Akwele didn’t want to believe that Valoryn had really betrayed them, and his faith was rewarded when Valoryn instead betrayed Snurre and the other Drow and re-joined the party in the fight at an opportune moment. The party took a lot of damage, but managed to pull through with a win thanks to Regen casting a double Shatter on Snurre. Once the tide of battle started turning, Snurre fled through a secret doorway into the back-halls of his fortress.
