Transcript

Recap: You were taken from your homes and appeared in the square of a town that appears to be deserted. After a cursory exploration of the town centered around the Temple of Takara, you put out a magically induced fire and found a teleportation device that had malfunctioned. The creator was killed, but his consciousness was imprinted on the control rod for the device. He convinced you to put him through a portal to seek the broken components of the teleporter so that you could fix the envirochronic resonance architecture surrounding the town and stop the random effects of teleportation. You came to this place after one of the components and found it in the hands of five human men sitting around a campfire with a bound, gagged, and hooded figure sitting against the crates nearby. You all slaughtered these men, killing even the one who was trying to escape, and Urrak splattered blood across Ravaphine’s boots. As we start again, you’re still in your previous positions, the adrenaline still coursing through your bodies. Nera and Martyn both poofed out of existence and Poni is now lying in the grass next to one of the tents.   [8:18 PM] DM: Ravaphine, Urrak and Beiro are standing there in the clearing with five dead humans and a captive.   [8:19 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak rips a scrap of cloth off the dead man's tunic and cleans her sword before placing back in it's scabbard, a giant grin plastered on her face. "Now THAT is what I been waitin' for!"   [8:21 PM] DM: Beiro: "Truly that was an impressive display of strength, Lady Urrak."   [8:22 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine sighs and attempts to wipe off all the blood with no avail   [8:22 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I'll try to look for the missing component, do you want to check on the hostages?"   [8:23 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "This sword's never done me wrong." Urrak walks over to Poni and picks him up. "Aye, I'll check out the prisoner"   [8:23 PM] DM: Poni : "Just be gentle, you giant."   [8:23 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak walks over to the captured man and removes the hood from his head   [8:23 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Oi, y'alright?"   [8:24 PM] DM: When you pull the hood off, you see a human woman, probably about forty, with a gag in her mouth. There's rope around her ankles and shackles at her wrists.   [8:25 PM] DM: The woman flinches when she sees you.   [8:24 PM] DM: Ravaphine- roll Investigation or Perception   [8:24 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: ((21))   [8:24 PM] DM: You find the component easily. It was sitting at the campfire, dropped by a startled man when Urrak charged in.   [8:25 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine picks up the component and walks over to Urrak and the woman   [8:25 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Hey there, it's alright. I ain't gonna hurtcha lest ye give me reason to. Lemme undo these ropes then."   [8:26 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak uses her dagger to cut the ropes and offers her waterskin to the woman   [8:26 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Y'look like you've been through the wringer, friend."   [8:27 PM] DM: You take the ropes from her ankles and the gag from her mouth, but the shackles remain. "Who are you?"   [8:27 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Urrak of the D'akshi stronghold. Hmm I cannae break these chains without hurtin' ya. Rava, can y' use some kind of spell to free her?"   [8:27 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Doubt we'll find a key in this mess...."   [8:30 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I am ravaphine, we're here to help you. I don't have any tools, but maybe we can break the chains?"   [8:31 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak cracks her knuckles. "I s'pose I can try an' snap em"   [8:32 PM] DM: Beiro: "Unfortunately I lack the tools to do so as well."   [8:32 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "while you do that, i'll try to see if i can find keys in any of their dead body pockets"   [8:32 PM] DM: Investigation check, Ravaphine   [8:32 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: ((14))   [8:32 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: ((9))   [8:33 PM] DM: Urrak takes the shackles in either hand and tries to rip them apart, but after straining for a minute, she realizes she's not getting anywhere.   [8:33 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Blast. These be some strong bonds."   [8:34 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak joins Ravaphine in looking for a key   [8:34 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: ((13))   [8:35 PM] DM: You find 10 gold, but no keys.   [8:35 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Bloody mess this is..."   [8:35 PM] DM: Beiro: "What about the tents?"   [8:36 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Let's head to the tents"   [8:37 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Aye, a good plan."   [8:37 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "We will be right back so we can unlock these chains for you"   [8:37 PM] DM: Investigation for searching tents!   [8:38 PM] DM: Beiro: ((17 investigation))   [8:38 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: ((18))   [8:38 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: ((16))   [8:39 PM] DM: Ok! Ravaphine looks through some of the tents and finds 5 gold and the keys. Urrak finds a pair of bone dice that look like they might fetch a nice price.   [8:39 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "A little somthin' fer my trouble"   [8:41 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Found some keys!!!" Ravaphine heads over to the woman and asks before unlocking the chains, "are you okay? what happened before these men captured you?   [8:42 PM] DM: She relaxes a little seeing an elf helping instead of the giant. "I was in town, looking to buy some meat when all of a sudden I wasn’t. I was on a road I ain’t seen before and that thing was sitting in the middle of the road, smoking.” She points at the component piece. “I picked it up, figured it might be important or expensive. Then these assholes came and grabbed me.”   [8:45 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine looks at the component piece and nervously places it in her bag. "Ill be sure to be careful with this. I guess we're all in the same boat then, just trying to get out of here. It's okay, my team and I...okay mostly the orc, took care of the men who captured you" She then helps the woman out of the chains.   [8:46 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Aye that I did!" Urrak laughs a little louder than what is probably appropriate(edited)   [8:46 PM] DM: Poni: “Yeah, yeah, this is great. Wonderful. Are you done with the meet and greet? I was hoping the pieces would be bigger so we wouldn’t have to find as many. This is just… terrific. AND now it looks like the stupid people of that stupid town got sent with the pieces. Wonderful.”   [8:46 PM] DM: The woman looks around with a scowl. “Is that that creepy little gnome I hear? Where’s he at? This is all your fault, isn’t it? Dafyn said you were up to no good.”   [8:47 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Who..is Dafyn?"   [8:48 PM] DM: Captive: "Dafyn works the farm with me."   [8:49 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Well we're no friends of this fellow. We can here, same as you. From outta nowhere."   [8:49 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Poni, how many more pieces are there?"   [8:49 PM] DM: Poni: "Why do you think I know? More than three. That's for sure. We've got the piece. Let's get going."   [8:50 PM] DM: Captive: "Where are we?"   [8:50 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Now that's a good question...."   [8:50 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I never got your name" Ravaphine asks the stranger.   [8:50 PM] DM: "Name's Lin."   [8:51 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Lin, do you know of any of the places on this map?" she pulls out the map piece that was found back at the temple to show Lin   [8:52 PM] DM: "Aye. I'm from Bellbury."   [8:53 PM] DM: She points at the center of the map.   [8:54 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Well, we have to find more components like the one you found before, and then we can all head back home. Shall we continue into the town?"(edited)   [8:54 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "We should bring her back there, to her home"   [8:55 PM] DM: Poni: "There was only the one here. We'll have to go back to Bellbury and use the Quantum Riftshift Slipstream Teletransmitter to go to the next one."   Lin: "Speak Common, Gnome."   [8:55 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Ha! I like 'er"   [8:56 PM] DM: She frowns and sidesteps away from you.   [8:56 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I guess we're going back to Bellbury. Everyone, grab onto my shoulders. Poni, can you take us back?"   [8:57 PM] DM: Poni: "Yes, yes. Clearly I have to get used to repeating myself. Everyone has to touch, then you push the button."(edited)   [8:57 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak places a hand on Ravaphine's shoulder   [8:58 PM] DM: Beiro puts his hand on Urrak's bicep.   [8:58 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine reaches her hand out to Lin, "don't worry, it'll be okay. we;ll get you back home"   [8:58 PM] DM: Lin stands and reluctantly takes her hand.   [9:00 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Alright, it's now or never.   [9:02 PM] DM: When you push the button, you all appear back in Poni’s basement .   [9:03 PM] DM: Lin lets go and frowns again. "I'm leaving. That gnome has a nasty habit of blowing things up."(edited)   [9:04 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Y'sure you'll be alright? I found some gold on those men, if y'need it, it's yours"   [9:05 PM] DM: She looks at you oddly. "You always offer gold to strangers? I just want to get back to my farm. I'm in no mood to be indebted to the likes of you."   [9:06 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Jus' tryin' t' be of help t' ya." Urrak walks to the other side of the basement   [9:06 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Hey, she's just trying to help. If that's all we are to you, then I guess we;ll be seeing you around"   [9:06 PM] DM: She huffs a little. "Thank you for saving me." Then she walks out.   [9:07 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine walks over to Urrak to talk to Poni. "One component down. Do you have a blueprint of what we need to rebuild?"   [9:08 PM] DM: Poni: "Just my books. Once we have the pieces, we'll be able to piece them together again."   [9:09 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Onto the next place then I guess. If only we had more help"   [9:09 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Any idea where th' next piece may be? Or should we just start blinkin' around at random?"   [9:10 PM] DM: Poni: "I can target the next one."  

Bri, Seir, and Enna in the Square

  [8:14 PM] DM: Ok! So Brimeia, Seirixori, and Enna will start here. Brimeia is sitting on the edge of the fountain, flirting with open air. Seirixori is perched on the edge like she's watching over the cart with pies, and an elven woman is suddenly standing at the side, pointing a drawn bow at nothing.   [8:19 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori blinks as her field of vision changes drastically and she sighs heavily, annoyed once she realizes where she is. "Of course, why bother trying to do anything." She glances behind her and notices a slightly familiar face and a new one, "Welcome," Seirixori says sarcastically to the elf.   [8:26 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia, who was enthusiastically lavishing compliments upon the dwarven barmaid's lustrous locks, stops abruptly as both the lass and the tavern disappear, replaced by a familiar looking fountain   [8:26 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: ...and TWO fine lasses. What a lucky day   [8:29 PM] Leigh- Enna: Enna looks around, confused, surprised to find cobblestones rather than the familiar crunch of sticks and leaves underfoot.   [8:30 PM] DM: Enna, you see a fountain with two others sitting on it, a group of commoners eating from a merchant's cart, and otherwise a deserted town.   [8:30 PM] DM: There's a temple, a tavern, and some sort of mansion along the edges of the square.   [8:32 PM] Leigh- Enna: Enna raises her bow in alarm, pointing it at the two tieflings who are staring at her. "Who are you? Where am I?"   [8:35 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia recognizes the tiefling from before, Seirixori. Not so friendly but spirited and quite a sight. "Well isn't this a pleasant surprise?" she croons. The elf is a new face, however. "Oh, and who might you be, fair elf?"   [8:42 PM] Leigh- Enna: "I'm someone who is wondering how I ended up in this place, and what the two of you have to do with it. Who are you working for?"   [8:44 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Work?" Brimeia echoes, puzzled. "Why would I do a thing like that?"   [8:46 PM] Leigh- Enna: "So you're not...mercenaries?"   [8:47 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori sighs heavily again, "We arrived here same as you. Going about our own business and then popping into a city we have no knowledge of."   [8:51 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Mercenaries? Goodness, no." Brimeia answers the elf. "Only money I take is for a brawl fairly won."   [8:36 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori ignores the questions, poking at the fountain water, debating with herself if she should go back to that house or walk around the town to find out more about where she is.   [8:50 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Ah, just as silent and statuesque as ever," Brimeia muses as Seirixori prods the water. "Find anything in there? Besides your beautiful reflection, that is?"   [8:56 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Rolling her eyes, Seirixori steps off the fountain, flicking water at Brimeia in annoyance. "Definitely not your brains," she replies before heading towards the burned house that was found before.   [9:00 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia looks undeterred by the splash and the comment. If anything, her grin grows as she turns in the direction the other tiefling is headed   [8:56 PM] Leigh- Enna: "Alright, someone better tell me what's going on or else I start flinging arrows." Enna's eyes keep flicking around, as if checking all angles for an attack.   [9:00 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Not quite sure myself, elf, but Seirixori there seems to know something. She found that temple last time."   [9:02 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "I didn't find anything, it's right there, in plain sight. I'm going back to where we were before, it seems to hold the only interesting thing in this town." Seirixori continues towards the house   [9:07 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Oh, I don't know, Seirixori. I see at least a couple other points of interest around," Brimeia beams   [9:04 PM] Leigh- Enna: Enna lowers her bow and decides to follow the tieflings, resigned that this may be the only way to get information.  

Poni's

  [9:07 PM] DM: You guys reach the burned husk of a house in time to see a woman walk out, a scowl on her face.   [9:07 PM] DM: She looks at the two of you and her frown deepens. "That gnome..." Then she walks away.   [9:08 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori continues to ignore Brimeia and walks into the house and heads down the stairs.   [9:06 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Far as I know, some magical thing exploded in a fire, killed some gnome. Something to do with why we're here, I guess." Brimeia explains. "I'm sure there's an beautiful name to go with that beautiful face of yours."   [9:09 PM] Leigh- Enna: Enna picks at the bracer on her arm, unsure of what to make of such attention on her . "Enna." She follows Seirixori downstairs.   [9:11 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia beams when the newcomer obliges with an answer. "A pleasure to meet you, Enna. Name's Brimeia." She follows both women down the stairs, if a little tentatively.   [9:10 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia opens her mouth to say something (almost certainly flirtatious) to the woman who emerges from the burnt house, but she wanders off before she gets the chance. She blinks at the mention of gnome. Surely not THAT gnome?   [9:10 PM] DM: The portal against the wall changes from one brightly lit, dense forest to a more normal, but dark one.   [9:10 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori walks into the basement and sees the group that was here before, "Help with what?"   [9:11 PM] DM: Poni: “Ugh. It’s probably too much to ask that it was a coincidence that there was a villager that popped up with the component, right? But the piece isn’t THAT small. There’s hundreds of people in this town. There can’t be hundreds of components if they’re this big.”   [9:12 PM] Leigh- Enna: Enna walks into the basement and takes in the group. She stays by the wall.   [9:12 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Tiefling! Y'came back. Where's the other one?"   [9:12 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "That's what I'm talking about! Power in numbers. Wait a second, who is this?" Ravaphine points at the elf by the shelf   [9:13 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: As Brimeia enters, her eyes go wide at the sound of a voice she can't place. "What? Who said that?"   [9:14 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "We found a way to successfully teleport from place to place, and the more components we find, the closer we all are to home"   [9:14 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "So...time to go easter egg hunting"   [9:14 PM] Leigh- Enna: "Just another person who somehow popped up here, who I am's not particularly important. How do you all seem to know each other and this place?"   [9:15 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Same thing happened to us. I was just trying to deliver a package and I woke up here"   [9:15 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "We all came here under the same odd circumstances. Just happened to do it sooner. But the more the merrier I say."   [9:16 PM] DM: Poni: "Wait, you've been here before?"   [9:16 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori attemps to trip Brimeia with her staff as Brimeia walks by.   [9:17 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Can you both stop making out and help us get to the next place"   [9:18 PM] DM: Brimeia spots the staff and steps over it easily.   [9:22 PM] DM: So! There's a dead gnome on the floor and a bunch of armed and armored people standing around in front of a flat screen TV that's showing a dark forest.   [9:22 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia turns to Ravaphine, "Ah, ravishing Ravaphine! I certainly wouldn't mind making out with you instead."   [9:22 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Some things never change...."   [9:23 PM] Leigh- Enna: ".....anyone feel like telling me why there's a dead gnome on the floor, and why no one seems to be concerned with this?"   [9:24 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "oh yeah, that's Poni. he caused this explosion and he's the reason why we're all here. Also he lives in this stick now" Ravaphine points to the rod in Urrak's hand   [9:24 PM] DM: ((Poni was asking whoever Urrak said 'you came back' to))   [9:24 PM] DM: Poni: "I'd say it's a pleasure, but it's probably not."   [9:24 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "He's a wizard of some kind...I'm assumin'"   [9:25 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Well now, that's all settled. Now where's that other piece we need t' find, Poni?"(edited)   [9:25 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna draws her bow, feeling a little silly for pointing it at a stick, but can't be too careful. "I don't trust wizards."   [9:25 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "I was here...and then I wasn't, and now I'm back. So yes...talking stick thing."   [9:26 PM] DM: Poni: "It's through there. Probably with another hapless and stupid villager."   [9:26 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Poni?" Brimeia frowns. "The explosion? Where..." She stops mid-sentence and stares at the stick as it's mentioned. "You're joking."   [9:27 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Hey now, drop yer weapons. Poni ain't here t' trick no one. And aye, Bri. It's true."   [9:27 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "He's our ride back home, unfortunately"   [9:27 PM] DM: Poni scoffs at being called "a ride" anywhere.   [9:28 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "What about that... gnome?" She gestures at the body still sprawled on the floor   [9:28 PM] DM: Poni: "That's me. Try to keep up."   [9:28 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "But you're the stick."   [9:29 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: ".....and also dead?"   [9:29 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "But he's dead."   [9:29 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "He's...half dead"   [9:29 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Poni I think you're gonna have to show them to believe it"   [9:29 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Half dead is dangerously close to undead, and I shoot undead on sight."   [9:29 PM] DM: Poni sighs. "My Quantum Riftshift Slipstream Teletransmitter went boom and now I am 'stick'. I prefer 'control rod', personally."   [9:30 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori steps up, visibly annoyed, as usual, "Can we please just get on with this, I was in the middle of something important and I would like to get back to it."   [9:30 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Aye I've got...obligations back home as well"   [9:30 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "We're going to have to go through another portal"   [9:31 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak claps her hand on Ravaphines shoulder. "Let's go!"   [9:31 PM] DM: You can see the next world through the portal. It's dark there, and forested. You don't see anything moving.   [9:31 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Ah but then we wouldn't have the joy of spending time in such lovely company"   [9:31 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Though I'm about itching for another brawl," Brimeia muses   [9:31 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "and in order to do so, everyone must be friends and touch the person next to you. be nice"   [9:32 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak extends her hand to Enna "Well, y'coming?"   [9:33 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Well, I certainly wouldn't mind getting cozy with you fine women." Brimeia winks   [9:34 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Please keep her away from me."   [9:34 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Seirixori, you wound me," Brimeia responds   [9:35 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "I tried."   [9:37 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "You're welcome to keep trying," she answers Seirixori   [9:34 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine grabs Seirixori's hand in her left and Brimeia's hand in her right. "FRIENDS. for ten seconds"   [9:36 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna points at the portal "What.....is that."   [9:36 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "One step closer to home. Enna, it'll be okay. Grab Brimeia's hand and we can get this started"   [9:37 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia takes Ravaphine's hand, "Well a trip through .. that won't be so bad in your company."   [9:37 PM] DM: Poni: "That is how we get from place to place. You all touch each other, push the button, put me through."   [9:38 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "I'm not much of a toucher."   [9:38 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Some foul magic. Same that brought us here, I imagine," she answers Enna. "Seems we've got no choice."   [9:38 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "What if you put your hand on my shoulder?"   [9:39 PM] DM: Poni: "It's not 'foul' magic. It's just magi-- ugh. Never mind."   [9:40 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna reluctantly places her hand on the fellow elf's shoulder   [9:40 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Well it's tossing us all around willy-nilly isn't it? And not it the fun way," Brimeia grumbles at the stick-not-quite-dead-gnome-thing.   [9:41 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Beiro, grab on and let's go"   [9:41 PM] DM: Beiro happily grabs Urrak's arm again.   [9:42 PM] DM: Poni: "Are you all about ready? Honestly, you'd think hired help would be more competent."   [9:42 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Hold on t'yer trousers, folks!" Urrak pushes the button   [9:42 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Poni, I'm going to stick you where the sun don't shine"   [9:42 PM] DM: Pushing the button causes the portal to flare and fray at the edges.   [9:42 PM] DM: Poni: "Now put me through. The sun's not shining there."   [9:42 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak places Poni through the portal   [9:43 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia grimaces at all the magical commotion. So unsettling.
