Ambergleam's Demise

A Dungeons & Dragons 5e game In the world of Rule of Chaos - Arde
| Looking for Players
Paragios – a small yet lively harbor town is set on an island not far from the coast and at the heart of the world – Arde. Once a flagship of democracy, Paragios is now caught in a web of deceit.   From the outside Paragios has retained all its charm. Rich olive trees, vineyards and the fanciest of jewelry made by the dwarven natives. They were the first settlers in a time when Paragios was still connected to the continent and still play an important role in Paragios as their smithery and building skills are unmatched. The city council however is only a charade, for it is factually controlled by two individuals – the old Wizard Richard Stargaze and the wealthy merchant Brian Ambergleam.   Stargaze has enough of Ambergleams scheming as he is about to outrun the old wizard in their race for power. The merchant started as a nobody and quickly rose to power through his trading skills while the wizard built his power over decades. All his connections weren’t enough to stop Ambergleam from becoming the wealthiest and most powerful citizen of Paragios.   Stargaze lost his temper after the latest amendment disadvantaging his business. Determined to end this once and for all Stargaze summons four demons to reach his goal. What can possibly go wrong?

Maps

  • Tom's Smithy (Upper Floor)
The workshop looks like a typical smithy workshop. There are tools lying around everywhere. The temperature is humid and hot. Unfinished pieces of swords, chain mail, plate mail and of various tools are scattered throughout the shop.   (Access this map online via DungeonFog)
  • Arde
Arde is the mortal realm of "Rule of Chaos" a 5E extension all about playin mighty demons. The world of Arde will go through 7 eras. Primeval, Ancient, Medieval, Rennaissance, Industrial Revolution (Steam Punk), Modern Age, Sci Fi (Cyber Punk).   In all these eras magic and demons are percieved differently and have a different influence on the world. We already developed the concepts of those eras including inhabitants, politics, relationship between science and magic, ...   We start with the medieval time, in which demons are percieved as evil due to the strong narrative of the curches. Nonetheless there are parts in this world, where the influence of the churches of heaven is not so strong.   The challenge for demon players is here to not blow their cover carelessly and unleash their force when the time is right.
  • The Happy Merchant's Tavern (Upper Floor)
  • The Streetcorner
The street makes a hard turn to the right. Two selling booths and cart trails indicate that the market is to the left.   After a turn to the right the street goes by a little park with trees and a fountain to the left. There is also a narrow alley opposite to the park leading alongside a craftsman’s workshop.   (Access this map online via DungeonFog)
  • The Happy Merchant's Tavern (Ground Floor)
In the middle of the merchants’ quarter, near the city plaza, stands the happy merchant’s tavern. The beer here is good and affordable. Guardsmen, priests, craftsmen, and merchants alike enjoy their beer here.   Sometimes, travelling musicians play on the stage in the happy merchant’s tavern. The happy merchant’s tavern is open to the public around the clock.   (Access this map online via DungeonFog)
