World’s Rest Report

General Summary

Leaving Nanny Irongums and her encounter with Thomas Marchant behind them, the Five Fingers of Dorwine finally reach the Ashen Hills. In the middle of the rolling, wind-blasted hills they encounter a group of goblins attempting a bit of regenerative horticulture. The goblins seem to have their hearts in the right place but not the necessary knowledge. It is only after a judicious application of magic from Mehmen Ashid that the goblins are able to stop squabbling and get their tree plantings to take.   But the heroes aren’t in the Ashen Hills to plant trees they are there to get to the source of the mysterious messages from Mehmen’s brother Andro Ashid. Eventually the converted fort that is the World’s Rest Healing Centre hoves into view. It is a one-of-a-kind structure covered in colourful murals and surrounded by art. Its tabaxi custodians are unique and soon the heroes meet the leader Gazes out to the Ocean, and a number of her team, including the gruff Chases Butterflies, the ever silent Fire And A Warm Bed and their orderly Washes Frequently. 
   Soon Mehmen also gets to meet his brother Andro, or what remains of him. It turns out he was found by the tabaxi blinded and half dead a day’s journey from the Centre. Now Andro is turning into something possessed. It appears, from his rantings, that he was travelling through the Ashen Hills after having discovered an important piece in the puzzle of the Atam Wishart and Staff of the Woodlands story. There he was captured by the gnolls that plague the area and bitten by the “white Gnoll.” From what the  tabaxi can glean this Gnoll is a vampire and Andro is now infected. During his rant to Mehmen, Andro mentions that his “master” will come for him. On further enquiry the tabaxi reveal that the white Gnoll visits the Centre when the moon is full. As the moon is full that night it is suggested the party might want to see him.   After a short rest the heroes are awoken and, accompanied by Chases Butterflies and Fire And A Warm Bed, they head to the walls and there they find the white Gnoll stalking in front of the walls…
