Session 6: Concert Aftermath

General Summary

Following Rome's concert and the defeat of the nothic in session 5, Rome and Ogvai started to look around, joined by a well-armed dwarf, Tamugar who offered his services to the party, having missed the show.   Ogvai tried looking for a source of kress, thinking it would tie back to the Ebon Axes. Figuring that some of the musicians would be interested, he questioned those in the green room. After irritating a male orc flautist, he managed to seduce a female human tambourine player in the orc's band. She led him back to her room in Underhill's, offering him kress. She smoked it out of a pipe, getting high quickly, while Ogvai managed to pretend he was smoking it, without inhaling. He still got high from the fumes in the room. Searching the room, he found nothing of value, but made off with two small leather bags with kress. Stumbling back to the House of Cards, he ordered some food.   Meanwhile, Rome and Tamugar started talking to the bouncers, quickly discovering that they all seemed to have been incapacitated via some kind of injection. Tamugar overheard two bouncers at the south entrance talking about the attack, fearing for their jobs. One mentioned that he'd seen something vibrantly purple just before passing out. Rome and Tamugar bribed those two bouncers to let them out the entrance they were guarding, finding a fragment of purple cloth caught on a nail in the wall. Tamugar looked around and saw footprints and clawmarks beginning a few feet inside the gate in the outer wall of the resort complex. Rome used Speak With Animals to talk to a fly, who told her that a couple figures in dark black cloaks and hoods, and another in bright purple and blue robes, had teleported into the area and led the nothic in.   Regrouping with Ogvai inside, the party headed back to the Torch and Tankard, with Rome carrying Ogvai back under one arm. After getting some food from Taewyn, which helped Ogvai fully recover from the high, the party went to sleep.   Waking late in the morning, the party discussed their plans over breakfast. Ogvai identified the cloth as possibly being from Alkor, the gnome wizard Rome had talked to on the tram between Heart Of Shards and Eleth Lilanor. Deciding that their next course of action should be to find Kina, the party headed towards her house. Overhearing some noise on the city wall above, Ogvai looked up just as someone on the wall dropped a dagger, which hit his foot. Looking up, Tamugar was just able to spot a hooded figure in black ducking down beneath the battlements. Approaching the door to the nearest house, Ogvai found it unlocked and slightly ajar. Hearing sounds of combat, the party rushed in.   Down the hall, in the kitchen, a lithe half-elf female with two short swords was fighting a swarthy orc male in a black cloak and hood with a longsword. The party first attempted to stop the fight, but when the half-elf called out that she was being attacked in her own home, they took her side. Two thugs in black came partway down the stairs, firing at the half-elf with crossbows. Tamugar charged them and Rome cast magic, killing one and injuring the other, who turned and ran back upstairs. Tamugar pursued the fleeing thug, only to see him get shot through the throat with a crossbow by a halfling in a leather trenchcoat and long, greasy black hair slicked back. The halfling teleported away before Tamugar could reach him.   Back downstairs, Rome, Ogvai, and the half-elf managed to knock the orc unconscious. With the combat ended, she introduced herself to the party as Kina Veslynd.
