Session 39: Stormslayers

General Summary

On the highest rooftop of the Lord of Storms' fortress, Rome cast Speak With Dead on Elios' body, finding out that he wanted to make the Damariens and Deliriums suffer for abandoning him, and that he was using the centaurs as a means to achieve glory for himself. The party rested briefly, discovering that the rod they'd taken from Elios was being used to control a specific creature. Guessing that Elios was holding Phelonia, the Centaur Matriarch in thrall, the party decided to put an end to the war.   Heading to the battlements, the party first dealt with the troll making its rounds on the battlefield with its pet owlbear. Making use of oil and the plant material that covered most of the castle walls, the party prepared to light the fortress ablaze, while Rome headed to the front of the battlement, using thaumaturgy and enlarging herself before speaking to the centaurs in their war camps. Rome spoke of how the party were the Stormslayers and Bringers of Light, concluding her speech by breaking the rod over the battlements. The rest of the party quickly set the castle ablaze, and everyone teleported to the Windward Serpent for the night.   Returning to the fortress after a comfortable night's sleep and a little shopping, the party left the fortress, heading past the dispersing centaur camps. Encountering General Dodonga and a contingent of Moonguard troops, supervising the dispersal, the party asked about a reward. Unable to grant one himself, the general told the party that the Regent in Eleth Telnara would grant them an audience on their return. The party traversed the forest, returning to Eld Tereth by nightfall.
