I have suggested this last year and the response I got back then was that they were about to start on PROJECT HOMER II (MANUSCRIPTS V.2.0). A complete rewrite/rethink of how Manuscripts work. But since then they've been pushing this and instead focused on campaign stuff. Unfortunately. I paid good money (sub for a year) to write a manuscript, but it was so lacking that I quit a month into writing. I should've spent it on real manuscript software instead. @dimitri: I'm not blaming you for being busy, but can we get an estimate on when you'll be able to start on Homer II at least?
I think for this to be a functional, professional system, we need to be able to bring in editors and let them edit. This is an important functionality.
I agree with Shiobhan - we need an option for editors and commenters. Not sure they should have to be a co-author. but we need an option! I've had to edit my manuscript in other software because I need my editor's comments and I had enough it wasn't worth the time to transfer them manually.
This would be a great option for editors to assist as well since they would then be able to access the manuscript without it needing to be taken off the site.
I believe this is planned for when Manuscripts get updated next, but it would be nice to have. I did try to search for if this was requested here before (I swear it must have, but I can't find it offhand)
