Maps Timelines Tracking New-Feature Advanced Map-Markers
When using the map tool give a toggle to allow a timeline to be applied to the map, be it the master timeline, a parallel timeline, or a specific era.
When Applied Add a slider that can be used to adjust the map's current date along that timeline, and allow changes to be made over the years. Allowing regions to change shape as territory is gained and lost in a years-long war. Cities being built and razed to the ground, or simple name changes as different cultures take hold.
As an added bonus you could add smaller and more transient markers to the map. These markers could signify anything that moves frequently across the map. These could be main characters, adventuring parties, ships, armies, caravans, or flying cities.
As an extra bonus, Allowing these transient markers extra features, such as an extra textbox to describe what they were doing at each specific location, setting specific keyframes along the timeline so they can traverse across it in an animated 'tween' of sorts. Even setting modes of travel, whether making standard moves or magically teleporting.
This would be incredibly useful for keeping track of a lot of moving parts throughout history, especially in a world where traversal is important to keep note of. Such as war and political settings.
The Team's Response
Most of the above is covered or will be covered by Chronos but there were some interesting ideas in there that I would like to DISCUSS with the development team.
Due to low support This is not accepted for implementation it's accepted as a discussion.
