What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation? i have several moments in my world that i wish i could simply the year, or day on a calender, and have the event show up on the timeline. i currently have to make an article inside timeline, and ise the drop down of finding articles to link. i wish to simply be able to have the timeline be linkable based upon my calender or the year.
How does this feature request address the current situation? it would make the process simpler, when editing an article, it would be as simple as sticking it right into the timeline.
What are other uses for this feature request?

If you're asking for a way to automatically add articles into a timeline by setting a date in the article editor, consider this declined. This would add a considerable amount of complexity in the system. If you were suggesting something else, please open a new feature suggestion and provide clearer details. Thank you!
