What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
The articles shown on your profile is currently your latest work, regardless of what that might be. The latest thing you worked on might not be what you want your profile visitors to see, it might be a WIP, or a part of a article series you don't want to promote until it's done. It is also not related to if you've chosen to click "add in recent" during article creation.How does this feature request address the current situation?
Being able to chose which articles are shown on your profile page would let you showcase your best work across your worlds, increasing the usefulness of the profile. Let the "latest work articles" on your profile be picked from the articles you've clicked on "Add in recent" when during article creation, to avoid picking articles you don't want to show of. One could argue that keeping articles private would solve this but there are instances where you don't want or can't have the article private. Besides, again, I think this would improve the user profile experience to the better.What are other uses for this feature request?
An expansion of this idea would be that the whole thing is remade and it's open to decide whichever articles you want, a sort of featured articles, which I know recently was removed from world page. Depending on why that is maybe this could be a new thing.
