What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
I'd like an easier calculation of birth-year based on an age I enter for the character AND/OR the ability to assign a timeline and use the era count from that timeline to set the years for birth and death rather than do manual calculations to work it out from the primary timeline only. (i suspect when managing characters who died long ago might need the latter). Secondly, the dates of birth displayed on the template should be as per the assigned timeline.How does this feature request address the current situation?
Currently, I have a few eras in my timeline each with custom counts, and when working out a character's age and year of birth, i need to calculate against the primary era 0 date (thousands of yrs prior). It gets very cumbersome working it all out.What are other uses for this feature request?
Maybe could be also then be extended to other article templates, like founding dates for settlements, conflicts et al. NOTE: I realise this may well be part of the planned overhaul of timelines... if so, all good. If not, maybe can be added?The Team's Response
This will happen but .. do not hold your breath - there is a lot of complexity that needs to be resolved in order to accomplish that - it is about 10 times more complicated than it sounds.
