What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

The possibility to add your finished pre-existing calendars to a chronicle. Now i have to create my calendar again in a chronicle. 

How does this feature request address the current situation?

  There are already suggestions to add pre-existing timelines and maps to chronicles so i was thinking it would also be nice if we could add pre-existing calendars to a chronicle. It would save a lot of time and hassle. 

What are other uses for this feature request?

Chronicle feature would be more user friendly. I myself am waiting features like this to start using chronicles so i dont have to create my calendars again. I understand that it will take a while to implement features like this to the chronicle.

The Team's Response

The existing Calendar system will be re-written from scratch. The Chronicles Calendar system will most probably be the basis of the new system - In other words we will not integrate the pre-existing calendars to Chronicles but probably the other way around. Regardless this is accepted because the two systems will be merged and there will be a way to migrate your old calendars to the new system.

    As it is now, chronicles seems like more worth than it's worth, basically starting over from scratch on everything.

    Yes please! I thought I was crazy when I had to manually add my custom calendar a second time! Please let me import a Json file or something! Please!

    This is something that I need as what I'm working on has several cultures with there own calendar systems and it's very inconvinient to have to type it all out again when I create a new timeline or chronicle.

    All the existing work needs to be integrated into Chronicles, not just calendars, but this vote is for calendars.

    It's really clunky to have to remake your world's calendar each time. You can already select a default calendar system, so there's clearly a system set in place for changing the settings for you. Those calendars that can be loaded must follow a format. In that sense, I think exporting to json or something similar in order to import into new chronicles would be feasible.
