What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Way back in about 2002, I had a "Homestead" Web Site Account that was fairly simple and easy to get started with and use. This web site builder had do it yourself web site building features that were simple by todays standards, but were fun to play with. These app features included custom coloring blank pages and link buttons, of different sizes and shapes and colors, that, when activated would connect pages in the website and also outside the website to other web sites in the internet. This was achieved with addressing the selected buttons in the site builder tool protocols. I could bring in a picture, onto the blank page and then put link buttons on it (and the picture) too. Another "App" ", that was fun to use was the marching into the distance text, like in some of the "Star Wars" movies. Now, what was really kinda neat, was making the click on button the same color as the page color, which made it invisible though still there, like a secret spot (or cloaked vehicle) for jumping to other pages, or web sites. A visitor had to discover the link spot by "mousing" around the viewed page and when the link button place on the viewed page was "hit", it "flashed" to reveal itself. Then I went and lost this fun "Homestead" web site account through lack of funds and by the time I had the money to reinstate or rebuild the account, "Homestead" had gone totally commercial with pre-designed pages and had ( it seems) discarded the fun web site building features it had started with. I sure miss these neat little apps...that provided delightful surprises on the site. I miss being able to choose the colors of the pages and the features. Do you think that "World Anvil" could provide these sorts of apps in its "Building Apps"? Maybe in the "Tools" category?

Sadly, the discussion page is not getting me anywhere, so there is no way to ask for more details, but right now I fail to see the use of this feature. Might just be due to lack of understanding, though. Sorry.

I strongly suspect I am entirely misunderstanding the idea here, but am trying to follow, so take the following as my opinion, please. While not an App, WA has the Mention System to link pages in the text There is also the Navigation tab when you're editing an article, and under that one is the Linear Navigation where you can link and article "above" and "below" I believe you can CSS buttons as well? I admit, I'm trying to sift through to understand if you're looking for some kind of app to make the buttons, an app to do something else, or if the app request is unrelated to the buttons? You also link the suggestion to a manuscript for discussion, but there doesn't seem to be anything to read or comment on? I recommend making a Reddit Thread, or an article on World Anvil might be something easier, or the manuscript having something to read so there is a way to comment on it available and ask for further clarification. (negative vote is mostly from me being uncertain as to what specifically is being asked for while also me thinking the request is asking for something we already have, and the at-this-time unavailable way to discuss the feature)
