It would be nice, but for various legal reasons, as well as just the complexity of the project, I feel topics like this should be revisited after we have time to work with the remade Heros system
YES! I understand this could be difficult for licensing and partnership reasons, but even if it was just uploading a downloaded PDF of our character sheets, I would appreciate that functionality.
Seems like a good and helpful tool for players
A better option would be a bulk importer/ converter based on a template so users could simply create middle man modules to do anything rather than just beyond. In exchange for some additional complexity that would make it a universal feature rather than just a dnd one.
https://character-service.dndbeyond.com/character/v5/character/<id> does indeed seem to work. Voting because this legit looks like something usable.
Comment on dndbeyond shows link to an api version of dndbeyond character sheets… add character ID to end of this URL https://character-service.dndbeyond.com/character/v5/character/[id]… worth investigating again maybe?
As nice as it would be, this one is never going to happen. I know because I have previously suggested it, and it was explained to me how it simply is not logistically possible.
Like others, I've seen these requests shut down before, but wanted to mention that in Foundry at least there are some module developers that have found ways to integrate aspects of DND Beyond into a campaign - MrPrimate's DND Beyond Character Importer and iamwarhead's DDB Gamelog. Calling these out in case the means that they use can be integrated between WA/DND Beyond. I'm not technical enough to know more, so... I'll leave it to the experts.
This is something that I would really love to see so that I can truely hve one location to run my campaign from.
I don't play D&D so not sure what the formatting is for your character sheets. But if it's a generic pdf then the "other uses" section could be huge!
This feature request pops up often, and I've seen them closed down by the developers because, to my memory of reading a recently closed suggestion from this morning Jan 18th 2022 (my timezone, I'm typing in the late afternoon), creating such a connection requires both D&DBeyond and WorldAnvil to work together, it's not something only WorldAnvil could make. But a better explanation can be found by searching the feature requests - anything mentioning DnDBeyond or D&DBeyond should show up with one term or the other.
I too would find this to be extremely helpful, though I suspect it is far easier said than done.
