Progress Clocks or Bars

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

I would like to see a progress clock/bar added. I think perhaps as an Advanced tool? Where you can link a Faction/Organization to said progress tracker in order to track progress for a certain task within a campaign.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

At the moment there's no easy way to track a group's progress through a task overtime other than to create a timeline, I believe that timelines are a bit too robust for this simple tracker. The feature should have the ability to add/remove progress. Allowing the user to input the number of segments 4/6/8/10/12....

What are other uses for this feature request?

With a progress clock/bar, a GM might be able to create various clocks on the fly to track countdowns to events and or conflict climax. This is why I think an advanced tool handling this would probably be the best option. Allowing the GM to create and track progress for a plotline.

Follow up

Just to be clear, what I had envisioned here is a Tool that you can use to track progress toward a certain goal, to which you can add organizations. This would not be a new part of any of the current articles but rather an entry under the Advanced Tools (like stat blocks).

The Team's Response

Sounds like a fun idea, so we'll add some sort of progress tracker BBCode in a future update. Thanks!

This is amazing. It's one of those features suggestions that I didn't know I needed until I saw it.   Absolutely 100% this. I would love some tool like this that can be ticked down or up on.

I think it would also be pretty cool if you could increment/decrement the meter if you have quick edits enabled. Anything that prevents me from having to bounce back and forth between the editor and the preview during a TTRPG play session is a big plus!

I like this idea but I would personally modify it and use it as a pie chart feature to show things like population demographics.

I forwardly like the idea, but this should land very low on the priority chart. If it would be particularly easy to implement, they should.

I love using clocks, but I'm not sure about implementing them on WA. They're more niche and existing options can serve the same purpose: text (clock: 2/4 full), bbcode icons (), or at GM+, bootstrap progress bars. Unless implementing them would be incredibly easy, I'm not sure the benefit would be worth the time.

I generally like the idea, but am personally unsure of how it fits with the rest of the World building side of the application
