Combining tags for lists

tags lists

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

I often make a list on the right section of things I feel relevant to the ariticle, like "tagged:localproduct|list|Local products". It works perfectly and is a great feature.
Though there are situation where I would like to combine like "localproduct" AND "<country>" in such list. I can solve "localproduct-droyma", but when I get the article included in every "droyma" list as well. And if I do "localproductdroyma" I need to add a "localproduct" tag as well, to have it in a list including a local products - it is a clonky solution, though it works.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

If I can combine two or more tags for a list, I have a more flexible situation where I don't have to go in and add a tag every article just because I want to limit the posts in a list.

What are other uses for this feature request?

Absolutely. It could be used when searching and filtering articles in our GUI as well.

Follow up

I'm sorry for the spelling errors. I rewrite just to make things clear: [..] I can solve it with "localproduct-droyma", but then I get the article included in every "droyma" list as well. And if I do "localproductdroyma" I need to add a "localproduct" tag as well, to have it in a list including all local products [..]

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! While we understand the reason behind this, this would be a very significant coding change in the backend that would need a much higher support from the community to be worth implementing. An update to the tag system (known as "tag manager") is planned, so managing tags will become easier although this suggestion isn currently part of the plan.

This is an excellent concept. I could definitely use this feature with just how lore-dense my world is.

Yes, please. The current approach with "tag1-tag2" is okay for most use cases, but you provided a great example for cases when it does not work. And either way, combining tags currently feels very complicated.

I would like this, especially if it had the option to select either "and" or "or" - as in, include if has either of the selected tags, or include only if it has both selected tags. That would make it really flexible.
