I would personally love this, but I hope that I can use it as only a Guild Master
A character web as visually polished as possible while maintaining that crime-solver-esque, red thread, murder board, 'its all coming together' vibe would be ideal. It may be a separate issue, and a bit difficult, but simultaneously imbedded family trees would also solve so many issues for me.
I agree with makonnen. At the moment the webs are a little bit messy and I hope it gets an upgrade in terms of visual presentation together with the proposed feature.
The presentation and management of the diplomatic web system is a bit rough. I would only vote for this if it also contained upgrades to the system, as well as its expansion.
This would be so neat. I'm sure it's convoluted to implement but I'd love a nice, polished relationships display/diagram.
This, I feel like would make a brilliant addition. As such, I am putting all of my ACs into it
Relationship webs are a fantastic way to visualize connections. I used to be a social engineer for a pentest firm, and later, an interrogator. During the course of investigations, we used a software that could automatically generate a 3D web that allowed us to visualize all the data. That seems like a big ask for a small website like this, considering the coding required to get that software to work. Nonetheless, I like this idea. To be able to navigate to an article, go down to the bottom, click "View relationship web" and boom, it shows color-coded web. Every contextual link from the article extends from a central point representing the original article. It can use the excerpt/mouseover snippet to briefly explain each thing in the web as the user scans around. Let users assign colors to "threads." I have tried manually doing something like this in 2D with whiteboards, and while visually pleasing, its a lot of manual work. I like this Idea overall, but I have doubts about it getting picked up.
This would be absolutely wonderful! If we can use character relationships similarly to how diplomacy webs are use (tag system and all), this would greatly improve upon the character template.
As someone who's forced to use the whiteboard for this... I can say a web would be so much more ergonomic.
This will come in handy for showing personal interconnections between people beyond just their organizations, such as Romeo and Juliet, as opposed to just the Capulets and Montagues.
Being able to show relationships between characters and groups would be a huge boon!
I would love to see a type of web / graph from characters and maybe ethnicities. I don't think species would needed.
