The ability to convert between different calendars and/or timelines is a clear and present need in many worlds. This is even hinted at in the timeline codex page at https://www.worldanvil.com/w/WorldAnvilCodex/a/timelines which talks about the Gregorian v Islamic calendar, for example, but WA doesn't support finding out what a specific date in one calendar (after year I) is in another, if they are not in synch (meaning, say, one is Gregorina, the other Lunar).
I don't know enough about WA's code architecture to suggest *how* to implement, but a notion where you could have an inline function where you passed a date in common time and it returned that date in the calendar of your choice would work.
Clearly, this would involve adding various bits of supporting data to each calendar to aid in the formatting (things like Excel-style formats along the lines of "dd of Mmm, YYYY" would be pretty great).
Bottom Line: a way to display March 13th, 2021 as Rajab 29, 1442 AH without doing the math myself.

Part of this request will be handled by Chronos, but the above, as is, is a flawed suggestion that assumed taht dating system can even be compared to the "real world" dating system. In general Chronos will be handling dates by using "seconds" since common "X" starting point and a table of equivalencies for units of time, but this calculation would probably be quite heavy to just allow an on the spot conversion. This part is already being explorer.

on 2021-04-16 08:25Yes, absolutely! Currently I'm using my own date conversion tool and enter the converted dates manually. Having that functionality directly in WorldAnvil would save a lot of time and reduce the risk of mistakes. I also support the tooltip suggestion. That's pretty much what I've been doing with my dates, displaying the local culture's date by default and putting the UTD date into a tooltip.

on 2021-04-15 17:28This idea would save me so much time and energy when I could be focusing on the article instead. I also really love what brass_phoenix said about adding an extra feature involving tooltips showing the original date so others (including myself) won't have to back-convert.

on 2021-04-12 16:45This would be really nice. I would also suggest an extra feature for the readers: have a tooltip on hover that shows the original date, so that those not familiar with the calendar don't have to do the back-conversion themselves :).
