conflict template - multiple location type choice

When making a conflict, I found out I can only choice one location. But what if the conflict is fought over several locations?
I would like that box to behave in such a way that I can choose multiple locations.

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! The intent behind the Military Conflict template is to use multiple Conflict articles if you want to write about an entire war: a parent conflict would describe the war in general and have the theater as a location, while specific articles would describe battles with specific locations. While we see why your suggestion might be useful, we're declining it for now because 1) It requires a full database migration because it changes the format of a field, which is very risky given the databse contains millions of entries, and 2) We have plans for this template, so we'd rather avoid changing this template for now.

I have this issue with several of my conflicts. If there is a war, and there are multiple battles or fronts, then it has seperate locations. It would be nice to have multiple entries, though from a database standpoint, it's a bit of a pain

I agree with others in that this could definitely be expanded across multiple formats eg. organization leaders!

I can understand how this makes the WA database design and interfaces more complex so we might not get it, but purely from a user perspective lots of the "single selection" options would be really nice if they supported multiple choices. I'd really like it for events, for example, which can often occur in more than one location.

I feel like this issue occurs in many fields and areas, like Leaders of an Organisation: what if there is more than 1? This should be an option across everything, tbh.

Either have multiple location fields, or allow for commas in the location field.

Not sure if this will have database performance impact, but if not, would love to see this implemented.
