Adding lake option in map markers
Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
You can mark rivers, oceans, and waterfalls, but not lakes. Having the ability to add any kind of water allows for more dynamic maps to be marked out.
The Team's Response
This request has not reached the required number of votes or community support during its voting time I do not disagree in principle with the idea. The reason that this was not implemented to begin with is that, especially in the sizes the pins are, it is very hard to differentiate between the symbold for a lake or a sea. I would be happy to look into it if the OP can show me a say to differentiate them clearly on #development-discussion

on 2021-06-21 13:34I'm not sure how much value there is in having different pins for seas/oceans and lakes - they're all just bodies of water, just different sizes, and I think the existing pin is general enough to cover all of them. You could also use the different marker colours to differentiate them better (ie black markers for ocean, blue for lake, etc), and of course the marker descriptions would make the differences clear. :)
