Pihnemt (blue people)

I have drawn inspiration, as well as a quote from the site https://www.empower-yourself-with-color-psychology.com/color-blue.html
The Pihnemt originated as the children of purple and orange people, that opposed the colonization during the blue days. The culture of the blue have changed dramatically in the short time that has passed.

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

The Pihnemt feel a very heavy respectability weighing on them. Their past mistakes, this has made them change face in order to be perceived differently. They try to appear cool and collected, but their inner thoughts betray them. They as well are very passionate. They like stories and exciting adventures as much if not more than any orange person ever would. But they repress their emotions to appear trustworthy and authoritative. While this is true they care a great deal for others, and a Pihnemt could be the best friend ever.
Said in another way: "Dark blue is the color of conservatism and responsibility. Although it appears to be cool, calm and collected, it is the color of the non-emotional worrier with repressed feelings, the pessimist and the hypocrite. Dark blue can be compassionate but has trouble showing it as its emotions run deep."

Shared customary codes and values

The Pihnemt pride themselves on on a strong loyalty they uphold to one another and the current rule, therefore it is most polite to state your purpose with the Pihnemt. They dislike roundabout ways to make them do something, but this does not go both ways, and while it is completely despicable, most of them have a very deceitful nature. Calming people is a nice thing to do within their culture.

Art & Architecture

They enjoy creativity in art, but are strictly opposed to any motives of violence or misfortune. Their architecture is grand and detailed with images of the sun.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Traditions in relation to the blue days

On the 17th in august they hold a commemorative feast. They put up red flowers in their windows, and there is small events in the towns they live in.
They also have a week set aside for education on the events of the blue days.

Kids

The younger people are very important people, when you are Pihnemt. It is almost a rule to hold a little housewarming, when a newborn is on its way. Many families spend a lot of time with their kids, and they are a valid excuse for getting off work earlier. Of course it can't be used all the time.
When they grow older the children are thought how to stand up for themselves.

Stories

Dramatic battles, mythical creatures and true love. The Pihnemt are masters of telling a good story, and for once they hold no punches. The stories are not just for children, but adults may make up some too just for the sake of it. Often they do not hold any moral value, but the ones that do aren't uncommon. The stories can be used to comfort.

Stangers

When meeting a stranger Pihnemt will often be on guard, and ready to fight. After all they could be dangerous. There is a certain sign however, showing no harm. Just tap your fingertips against each other, as two of the sides in a triangle, and you will be fine.

Fights

Despite the blue days the Pihnemt still fight. It generally is a very private thing, and not talked about, but it is considered important. If you cannot fight then what are you? A lowly animal.
Another thing is provoking a fight which is very wrong. There must be a proper reason for it, and it must follow rules, so that no one dies. After all if you kill, you are worse than an animal.

Coming of Age Rites

When their kids are of age, their face is painted with red, white and blue. They swarm the streets with their friends in this new coat of paint.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

The Pihnemt adore the plum person. Not fat, but plum. They like curves, and an occasional sharp turn.

Gender Ideals

Boys and girls aren't raised all that differently in blue people culture. The biggest difference is their fighting style. Girls are thought to immobilize, and boys to go for vitals.
