Ufra Empire

A century ago, the Ufra Empire was an Imperial Kivosian province called Khal, which was already rebellious, but an ambitious human named Razenir Ufra managed to unite many of the rebels. He made a pact with the infamous devil Samos the Deceiver for influence and magical power, soon conquering the region. Emperor Ufra ruled with an iron fist, created undead armies, and put fellow devil-allied officials into power. Nine years ago, he was overthrown by a local revolution, and he has now gone missing; the new emperor is working to remove diabolic influence. Relations with the rest of Kivosia remain poor, especially since Ufrans have returned to worshipping Zosoa and Jovac as equals (a tradition that was suppressed under Razenir’s rule) rather than praising the former and shunning the latter as other Kivosians do.
Ufra's capital is Lajaar, the holy city of Jovac.

Demography and Population

Humans make up the majority of the empire, with orcs being second most common. Ufran mages often raise their fallen dead, allowing Ufran warriors to fight into undeath--unlike many other cultures, using magic on corpses is not viewed as taboo.

Religion

Ufran religion honors Zosoa and Jovac equally. Ennera and Idali are acknowledged but regarded as less important than the other two. Being an agent of the devils, who prefer deities dedicated to order, Razenir Ufra favored Zosoa and sought to reduce Jovac's influence in his empire when he ruled. In the nine years since Razenir's fall from power, this unique variant has quickly returned to prominence.
